hey guys... long time no talk!!! its friggin good to be back and there are so many new people here... woah... makes me feel new... so many changes too... and what's this? boooo's a mod? or thats what it seems anyway heheh... anyway id like to get to know some the newer guys i haven't met... jeez... you're probably not new... but new to me!!! been at waterloo all last year... and summer just finished for me... but i won't be going back till january... seems like the double cohort eventually caught up to me and bit me in the a$$... ... no biggie... doing my life insurance license for the next four months or so... but my gf goes to york now... so ill probably be there a whole lot... hell i was there all frosh week hehe... hope to catch up with those of you who are still studying there

anyway here goes... after a long stand still with the civic... ive decided to pick up interest in pampering my car in more ways than just the normal clean vacuum and wax package hehe... ive got a couple of small projects in line before the snow hits and was wondering if some of you could help me out...

first off... im FINALLY gonna get my windows tinted... any suggestions on good places?

secondly... SAINT!!!! or civicboy (if you're still around)... think you could help me out with the DIY indiglo gauges?

thirdly... wanna paint trims and all... anyone got advice... how to's... free time to help me out?? LOL

fouthly... gonna do my side markers too... advice/tips anyone??

oh yea... one more thing... for those of you who have the dx sedan... you know that we've got those black mouldings on the side panels... yea... well... anyone researched anything about removing them or painting them to match the body color?

i mean... i love the black mirrors and the door handles... but i hate the black side mouldings... so if anyone has any information... id love to hear from ya

Welcome back. Side mouldings are easily painted - if u get a body kit u may as well have the shop paint the mouldings at the same time to save sum loot. Or maybe u can jus buy the mouldings from Honda. Or if ur REALLY lucky u can go to a junker, find a civic of ur year and colour, and it's been totalled, but all the damage is front end or rear end only....
Side markers - easy to wire. Depending which ones u get (VW markers are hard to put in btw), cutting into the fender should be straightforward enough. Just be patient. I'm not a patient guy, so I took my car to my buddy's shop to have it installed. U can prolly get sidemarkers for like $40 at most, then installed for another bill.

welcome back! about those pinstripes, i had a dx sedan also and hated those black stripes. the cheapest i found them for new was 100 each but forgot where the website is, so i think telly has a good idea and try and find some in the junkyard or paint it. oh yah be careful taking it off, unlike the coupe there are actually holes underneath where the pinstripes connect to.

side mouldings?? I have an SI so I don't have em, but I'm not sure if it's rubber moldings or not. If so, don't paint it... remove it!

as for the paint trims... you talking about the stereo and the gauge areas?? ... those are pretty easy to do so i dont think you would be having that much trouble with it.

Big Baller L has done alot of painting on his DX.

Smoking tailights is tricky, I've done it before but not in a good number of years. Are you sure you wouldn't rather go with those almost OEM looking TYC's..they're beautiful and light up real nice...

SAINT... i haven't played hockey for like 2 years.. but waterloo does have a team... winless last year didn't even bother.. besides... small asian guys like us don't have a chance against big white guys... =(... but yea... id love the help if you can find the time one weekend... or hell... even a weekday's cool with me... =)

on the trims... i kinda wanna do the center console... the two air vents... and the area around the gauges... you know... the part you take off when you do the DIY indiglo... so yea... read up on the DIY for that too... doesn't look too hard...

on the side moudlings... im probably gonna call in my stupid dealership and ask them how to remove them... painting them's gonna be a b*tch tho... i hear painting exterior is a lot harder job than interier... (quote from techno)...
