DIY side skirt installation phase 2 (prep and paint)

I am very impressed with the results. The $20 paint gun worked very well. 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, 3 coats of clearcoat. Very professional finish. Not bad for a first timer.

Bondo and prep before painting.

Primer on.

1st coat of silver paint.

One down, one more to go...

Primer on skirt 2!

Paint! Looking good.

DONE!!!

This is the setup that we used. like I said the paint gun worked fine for somthing that cheap. My Friends father got it on a online hardware store. And we used a basic electical air compressor. Witch runs for $180-$200.

i Got it at a Auto body supplies store at 56-19 northen Blvd Called Master. it came out to $111.42 You need to get Primer $11.44 . Honda paint $45.48 and paint Thiner $14.84. You have to mix the two half and half before you apply it. And last but not least is the Clear coat $20.47 and Clear coat hardner $ 10.70. That has to be mixed at a 4:1 ratio. I spent all that money on paint stuff , but i got my sides done and still have paint for the rear bumper

I must say that is quite an impressive job. I just got the Kaminari Lip Kit for my coupe and it came out excellent from the body shop, however it cost me $600. So you def. saved quite a bit of money. I don't think i am capable of a DIY body kit, so my hat goes off to you.

ive seen other people install the octane sides and they had to have small sections of it screwed to the body... and my sides.. they dont slide into place, seems like the ends are bent inwards too much..
