need some advice on getting a catback
well...im trying to get a catback done to my car sometime soon.....and also being cheap and trying to save a lil cash and all......im a poor collge student at stonybrook.....
but anywho, i wanted something thats really quiet and some people told me to look at apex's world sport....i've looked around and i dont think that there is a world sport muffler for our cars....so i was wondering if the N1 was a quiet one as well?
that was the first question....now...the question about my cheapness is that i just want to get the muffler alone and get some custom pipes cheap...
i was driving around the flushing junkyard area around shea stadium and they told me that they can just do the pipes for about 90 bucks or so....what i forgot to ask them was whether their pipes were mandrel bent or crush bent and i was just wondering if any1 can tell me if they had any jobs done by those people and whether if i should just get the custom pipes done by them?
your help is appreciated...thanx

WS is known to be quiet and almost stock like with a little note. There is no WS muffler. Most custom pipe I heard were loud and not quiet. I don't know much about how they can bent it. Someone else can help you with that. If you want quiet you should look into magnaflow cat back, you can get one for around 300 shipped (well used to at groupbuy forum, not anymore tho) I hope that help you so.

thanx for the response.....i was just reasearching rite now and i stumbled across that magnaflow gave me a not so loud noise too...go figure....the guy at the junkyard area said that if anything.....i cant go wrong wit the arospeed mufflers that he got in the shop...so basically the custom pipes wit the arospeed muffler will be 160.....i thought that was mighty cheap.....i just cant decide whether i should go do it or wat not....i mean, i can splurge and spend it on a 300+ dollars for a system and installation...but then performance wise.....its not like its that great of a deal so then i say...maybe i should get custom and a decent muffler.....cant decide....ahhh......

There are alot of things to consider when getting a cat back. Do you plan on upgrading your sway bars? if so, then you might want to do that first then get STAINLESS STEEL mandrel bent piping. Apex N1, 5 zigen, or aerospeed will do fine for a muffler. I wouldn't pay more than $120 for a muffler tho!
He said "custom pipes wit the arospeed muffler will be 160" I will go with that if you just want something that sound ok and performance is not that important(since you need I/H/E to really give a feeling on the increase of hp) It is also half the price of the magnaflow. Good deal! Even if you don't like it you can always sell it here or locally. GL and tell us how it sounds.

anywho....i've been hearing more good things for magnaflow than areospeed mufflers and im kinda leaning more towards magnaflow now....i've checked out www.hottexhaust.com and they have 2 kinds of mufflers im looking at....theres a stainless steel muffler which is like 55 bucks and a mirror finish street muffler which is for 89 bucks.....i dont know what the difference is....i think they're both made of stainless steel am i rite?...oh yea...just custom pipes alone would only be 90 bucks....so depending on wat muffler i get....i guess my cost wouldnt be over 200......i feel like a cheapo yet proud!.....heh
