Insurance?

Whats going on guys? I was wondering if anyone could help me right now I have insurance through allstate and I'm paying almost 300 a month. I have no speeding tix and I have one accident almost 3 yrs ago. I went to speak to them to find out if in november (when I had my accident 3 yrs ago) whether or not I will have my price dropped. The insurance salesman pretty much told that I will have it dropped in another 9 months when my policy renews, I'm pretty annoyed about this and don't feel that I should be paying so much. If anyone from the jersey/ sth jersey area can help me out and let me know how much they pay and what company they go through that would be rad.

I think the age is 25, but if you have been with your insurance for a long time and have been a good customer, they usually cut ya deal...I will be 23 in 21 days and I have Erie, my agent states that I will be paying less than what I have already which is like $123 a month I figured it to be.....

p.s...It also helps to have a record relatively clear of any moving violations...

Yeah Isaac, at one time I had 7 points on my record, it sucks!! But in PA, any points over 6 you have to automatically take a test, if ya pass, they take off two right away. I went w/o any moving violations for about 2 years now <knock on wood> thank God!

My last policy was under my parents name but this car I put under my name. I got the best insurance you can get I believe it 100,000-300,000 and full coverage of course. Comes out to a little over $1700 a year. I am actually paying less now then when I was under my parents policy. Too bad I didnt get this policy after I turned 30 because my agent said it would be cheaper. Oh well what can you do.

Hey scott, i dont mean 4 points on my driving record(i did have 5, should have 2 now), i mean on my insurance. see with erie, for every moving violation, or accident you have, they give you a point. that point gives you an additional 10% added to your premium. they said that if i wasnt on my parents policy theyd drop me, so im kinda stuck, and also, if i get one more, ill prolly get dropped. see, erie has really good rates, and they take care of claims really well, and quickly, but in order to keep their rates low, they try to keep relatively good drivers.

think about this, i have an '01 ex coupe, i pay about 123 a month.

my parents have an '02 Ranger XLT 4x4, an '02 civic lx sedan, and a '93 geo prizm, ALL have full coverage, and both have a clean record for almost as long as theyve been driving,

my portion of the bill is STILL more than all of their combined, just to show you how good of rates you can get from them

Sorry dude, I misunderstood ya! I didn't even know that they gave you points, that is some good info to know. Yeah, when I used to be on my parents' policy, it was really expensive cause it was my mom & dad, brother & myself all on one policy. So it was thru the roof!

But I do agree, Erie is one of the best insurances out there, not only with my personal experience with them, but I have to work with Erie everyday here @ the hospital on getting bills paid. They are very organized, they know what they are doing and payment usually comes rather quickly...

As far as I know, I think Allstate picks up high risk drivers, but I think it is a special policy and the rates may be exhorbitant...I was considering it after I pushed myself up to 7 points on my license...

Haha you wanna know why your paying so much for all state? Well ill tell ya. Three weeks ago i got into a car accident and the people who rear ended my car ended up paying $6000 for repairs. Their insurance was all state. You can thank the old drivers for it. I have State farm and im on my own name which they talked me into getting life insurance through them so my insurance goes down. I pay about 180 a month

Damn, that sucks! My theory is that insurance companies rip ya off and ya...but in the same sense, insurance is great to have, especially for medical coverage for med bills...lord knows they get expensive cause a ride on our MedEvac costs on average $9000 which exhuasts an auto policy pretty quickly....

yeah, i figure it this way, if they do drop me, and i cant get/afford insurance from a decent company, ill just go with geico, or safe auto(eww, i cringe), till my record is clear, then ill switch back to a decent company for real coverage. that being the worst case senario of course.
