Just wanted to invite the Mid-A Civic community out to this huge interforum megameet at University of Maryland next month.. it's for charity and turnout in past years have been absolutely ridiculous (nearly 2,000 cars last year)

Also - for the honda folks please lock your car/windows up, park in the main meet area only (no empty side lots if the main one is full), and immobilizer/removable steering wheel if you got it. A car got stolen last year out of 2,000 cars there, there will be 7 police officers on hand this year, but don't make yourself an easy target.

We will be asking for 1(or more) non-perishable food item per person as they enter the lot. If you forget to bring an item or prefer not to, we will collect a $1 donation on your way into the lot. All the donations collected from admission, food sales and the 50/50 raffle are going to be donated to Martha’s Table (http://www.marthastable.org).

So then is there a specific "Honda only" parking area with a security perimeter around it that has enough room for every Honda that might come? What about the people who show up at 2:30 or 3 and the the main lot is jammed full like last year?
Is it ok then to park my VeeDub in the empty side lot?

Basically what thats saying is, if you have a honda and you dont get there early, dont come at all, but its ok for anyone else to park in the empty side lots.
I'm pretty sure you can steal other cars too... Granted its pure stupidity to leave your windows down, especially in PG County, but the assumption that only Hondas can be stolen (or broken into) makes that disclaimer is a wee bit out of whack.

I'm just telling people to take extra steps because I wouldn't want to see this happen to anyone. I'm not discriminating, but it does apply to civics more than other cars if you live in the DC area.

There were 2,000 cars last year that were fine and it's a really fun time and for a GREAT cause - especially when you can have peace of mind that something like that won't happen!

edit: You gave me an idea -- I'm gonna ask if we can't just let honda's into the main area after its full up... there's always a couple of spaces. But there might not be any empty side lot to park in anyway... They're considering including the View next to the main Comcast one as part of the meet because we filled a 1,600 car lot and still ran out of space.

ill make it again this year too. i think that was the 1st time i met justin in person too a while back at this meet. haha, i instantly knew bc of the gatorade bottle. Edwin was also there too.

i think my car club's going to go, i just told my leader about it and he's definately down. We've got about 20 cars i think, whether or not they're all going i don't know.
But, should we try and show up exactly at noon for parking? i've never been to this show before so idk how it goes down.

i might not even make it kuz i got invited to a prom saturday and idk how i'll be feelin the following morning and i gotta return the tux n crap
