George (curiouz_G) just popped his boost cherry. He'll be boosted in a few months, so welcome him into the club, and make sure he gets the help he needs.

Welcome to the boost club(even though I'm not in DC)! What setup are planning on running? Stock internals or you building a closet monster too?
I'll never go back at this point, boost is too much fun and I've only had it for like 4 days! Anyway, if Justin has your back from a tech support basis, you'll be good to go!
Anything else though....I remember your build pics Justin - get in the gym!!!

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
hey hey hey... lets not be talking about my fat *** in here. I'm workin on it. Not all of us are in army shape... government desk jobs dont have a PT requirement, going to school after work doesnt help either.
We're still workin on George's setup, plan on it being pretty custom and a little crazy (I am involved after all). Using a Super 60 according to george. No speak of a closet monster yet. I told him to get it running first, lets make sure the tranny will hold 5 or 6 psi, then figure out what we can do about the transmission before we crank this thing up. He's got a goal in mind, I think its managable, we just need to figure out how much bombproofing that transmission is gonna need (or if it'll take it at all).
I'd really like to try and keep it looking as stock as possible. Hopefully find a way to stash an intercooler in there (possibly use a thinner core so we can keep the lower grill there, hide the pipes and make it real sneaky-like.

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
ditto on the govt job and school. i went from a 30-32 in waist to 36.
anyways, yea, im using a t3 super 60 .48ar.
This is going to be mainly custom and pretty crazy in my opinion (obviously i had influence on me
)
I just want to get this thing running and have my tranny hold up long enough for my tranny build. Its going to be sweet

Well this got a whole lot more interesting last night.... And you can take your minds out of the gutter.
You can expect it to be VERY crazy, and completely custom now. As far as the details..... well rob knows how many iterations I've gone through in perfecting mine.... I think we'll try and get George set straight on version 1.0. Consider me the R&D. If this works out like I think it might, I may revise mine again.

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
we dont know yet. we need to find someone local who can do FI-C. I'm aware that george is not on an infinite budget... and I'm keeping that in mind. This isnt gonna be very frilly, its going to be what it takes to make boost safely. The cost will depend on the fab work costs, but the flanges are on order already, and those are pretty reasonable, as are the manifold bends. Dont forget, we're just paying material and fab costs... not material, fab and 3rd party profits. Its going to be a matter of how much metal it takes and how complex the manifold becomes before we're happy with it. I'd like to keep it simple, but get it pretty efficient. The intercooler is probably going to end up like mine, but I may re-route the pipes a little.

Yep, cost might be a factor but im willing to wait for what i need and dont need to make it as safe as i possibly can.
as for tuning, ive decided, like justin said, to go with AEM FIC. As far as I know, no one on 7thgen or honda tech has any experience with this on our motors. Im just hoping this isnt a time bomb like emangle. As soon as Kpro comes out with their Auto RSX Kpro, Im going to be jumping all over that Kpro bandwagon :P

Hey! Look at that! It's a little bitty Garrett turbo! Very nice. Is that an externally gated one?
Thank you for not going cheap on the blower!

It's OK. Your turbo is "cute". I'm sure all the girls will love it. Everyone lies when they say size doesn't matter.....
The upside is that SOB will fit in your bay without you having to hack everything apart like I did for my GT30!

only on my POS. Everytime we do anything to anyone else's car it works fine.
My car tries to kill us.
Like I told edwin, I should pull out the motor, push the car off a cliff and buy another Civic to work on. This one hates me.

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
actually, it is a cheap turbo, it costs like a 3rd of what you fellas run, which means george and i can blow them up for fun and still spend less on snails than you. and it might be a small turbo, but for gods sake, look at the size of the inlet, compared to T2's the inlet is just monster. Not only that, but it's spool hungry..

I'm sure that little bitch will rock 'n roll. As much as I love the GT30, it's just gettin' warmed up at 4 psi and 7K on the tach. You can tell she just wants to go and go. Good thing that it's a ball-bearing and spools really fast.
Hey George, I should be ready to send those RSX-S injectors your way on Wednesday. They're coming out tomorrow so hit me with your address. My Paypal ID is tweefoos@hotmail.com.
