Oh hellz yeah motherbitches! I said it was gonna be crazy.... I'm upgrading it to totally whack.
It will include a major FIRST for a 7th gen turbo setup, but I'm not gonna say what it is yet.... just to keep you all waiting

Dude, this turbo build has more hype than a Britney Spears comeback. I hope it's better than her fat, drunk *** bouncing around on the stage!!

Hmmm. I was trying to think of what you may be doing while I was welding up my exhaust. Maybe that's why it had to redo it three times. Here are my guesses. It can't be a top mount turbo, since Gerry has done that on his, ergo, we've seen it.
1. Some type of stall converter for the tranny.
2. Multi-stage boost solenoid to save wear and tear on George's auto tranny
3. Top-mount intercooler right over the TB like an old Supra
4. Exhaust cut-out thing, muffler to the rear, but an open pipe to the side for the track
Honestly I think its number 2 or 3, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. George, you're one lucky SOB to have Justin, the mechanical engineer, as a bud. Not only can he think up crazy **** for your car, but he has the technical expertise to make it work!

The transmission is George's deal, its unrelated to the turbo setup... at least for now.
Multi stage boost control has been done... I have it in my car (Kpro has boost by gear), however, you are correct, we are going to use a "tranny saver" boost control.... thats just not the major new thing.
Top mount IC... eh, that requires cutting a hole in the hood.... nah
The exhaust cutout... well Andy just isnt running an exhaust, so that counts for the last one... but no, we're not gonna use a cutout.
Just wait and see...
Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
yep, sure am one lucky SOB. in all honesty, without him, i wouldn't even go boost. it was riding in his car several times and his willingness to help a idiot like me go boost
and you know when it goes to doing crazy stuff, justins the man to do it
only thing between him and other people who throw extravagant ideas out there is that he does it CORRECTLY and he knows what hes talking about.

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
version 1.0 is a box of flanges and pipes right now. We have about 30% of the parts we need to finish it, not to mention the last minute nickel and diming that never fails to run the bank dry.
Trust me, by the time we're done, I'm not gonna remember what I did to make it work, its just gonna work. There's no blue prints.... its all in my head.... and its going straight from there into George's car.

OK so it's DP or mani-related. I like guessing games so need to answer whether I'm right or wrong if you don't want to. EL has been done, I'm pretty sure someone has done a ramhorn D17 (my favorite from a looks standpoint). Hmmm....gotta be the position of the mani so it will definitely clear all the accessory crap on the driver's side.
But the city council said Justin isn't allowed to weld in his closet so......
Although he does have a compound chop saw, that mad blue, no-spatter welding wire, and access to Edwin's welder guy who can TIG like no one's business...
Guess I am going to have to wait!

Re: Welcoming the newest member of the DC boost crew...
Manifold production has begun.... I would figure a month-month and a half and I'll have a tacked pile of snakey tubes to play with, make sure the turbo still fits and what not, then it'll be fully welded and we'll be off and boosting

We cant post any pics until we're sure it fits, at which point, we'll post pics. George and I are both too busy at the moment to find a common time to take his car apart and mock it up, so eventually we'll get around to it.
