Moving to Philly

Heya,

I'll be moving to Philadelphia in the near future and I've got a whole lot of things to figure out.

Can anyone tell me how long it would take to commute from Manayunk to Plymouth Meeting every day? My work will be up there but i'd rather live closer to downtown.
I figure i'd be going opposite traffic but I'd like to know if any of you.

thanks,

That commute will be like 10 mins with moderate traffic. And you're comming out of the city so I would assume that traffic wouldn't be too bad. i'll ask my friend who lives in the Yunk.

I found out from my friend today that you should expect at least a 30 min commte from the Yunk to Plymouth. Traffic on 76 gets NUTS pretty often.

ok, thats still in an acceptable range for me. the place where i'll be working at doesnt want to operate out of downtown because they don't want to pay the wage tax (4%) kinda lame if you ask me. I'd rather live and work downtown.

alright,

just got word that the office will be in Conshohocken, Ft. Washington or Center City. hmm I'm hoping center city 'cuz my GF will be working across the river in the Camden area.

Wow! I can't wait to move to a city where "the brothers are in charge"!!

Working in center city isnt bad, and public transportation to anywhere in central philly is easy!

and Camden is very close to central philadelphia. its right over the ben franklin bridge.

and 76 GETS insanely nuts sometimes. i used to drive from south philly to king of prussia for a job and it takes atleast 1 hour during 8-9 and 4-6.
