Driving without front plates in NJ?

Are cops real strict about people who don't drive around with front licence plates (and maybe in the front window instead)? I really like how much cleaner the car looks without it...

dont do it. my front plate fell off when i went through a car wash left and about 10 mins later i got pulled over. but i said to him i know why your pulling me over and i went into the back seat and said is this what your looking for. lol so i tol dhim what happened and he let me go. but yeah you need one.

i moved mine to the left cornerof the bumper, like where the EVO has theres.

Yep, don't take em off.

For the longest time, I've had clear plate covers on my plates -- I used to get pulled over atleast once a month because of them. I finally grew tired, gave in, and took them off.

dont do it. youre gonna invite hassle you dont need. plus you might get tickets from tolls on the GSP/turnpike if the camera cant read your front plate and they get your rear one.

I have one of those slightly tinted licence plate covers on the rear, am I asking for trouble for that too?

i was ALWAYS getting pulled over for that -- down at the beach, up north by my girlfriend's school, driving to work... it was annoying. They never gave my a ticket (cough, my dad is a detective, cough) but it was annoying going through the same thing over and over again...

on my WS6 i put in the licence plate insert, it has a firebird on it. It fills in the gap where the licence plate goes. (it came wit the car) I belive the vette comes wit one too. Any ways i have my licence showing in the front dash. bought the car new in 02 and never had a prob on the parkway or turnpike.
