anyone ever have a run in with the cops about tints?

I wanna get 35% all around, but i dont want to have to get a ticket...

I have gotten pulled over 4 times since I had my tints. Two for speeding, one for cutting through parking lot, and one for not having my headlights on. I wound up getting one ticket for speeding. Everything else I was let go. And 3 and out of these 4 times, my tints were not even mentioned.

The only time it was mentioned was when I got the ticket for speeding. He was like "you know it is illegal to have your front windows tinted". I told him "yes". And he was like "I'll cut you a break this time on the tints". I think he just mentioned about the tints to lessen the blow of receiving a speeding ticket. Of course it didn't. But 35% tints is not a big problem. It's a problem when the tints get too dark (anything darker than 20%). I drive by cops with my windows rolled up and I have never gotten pulled over for just my tints. Most of the time, tints will be a secondary thing, if at all you receive a ticket for it.

most cops dont give a ****. i know for a fact marlboro cops do care. i have 25% all around, no problems yet.

In NJ, any % is legal for the back and rear passenger windows. Nothing is legal on passengers or front window.

Most cops around here treat tints like seatbelts. You most likely won't get pulled over for your tints alone, but they might ticket you for them after pulling you over for speeding ect.

When I had my EP a Woodbridge cop nailed me on 287. 20% all around except for the windshield. I guess I deserved it but the guy showed no compassion

I used to work at my town's City Hall, and police hq is inside too. I didn't want to get ticketed every day that I came in to work. And that's why I have to drive around half-tinted like a retart (front side windows not tinted)
