Virginia has had their interstates controlled by aircraft for quite a few years. It's really bad on 264 heading east from Norfolk to the resort area in Virginia Beach. They did a study though and found that they only busted something like 114 people in 1 year of the program, so I think they nixed it.

In the south burbs of chicago they have the signs all over. On weekends and holidays you can see single engine planes flying low and watching people.

if you remember the gumball 3000 video, a police helicoptor showed up as the gt2 and the supra flew down the highway at 120+

I-4 in flroida is also aircraft patrolled, you can usually tell there is air craft patrolling when you are driving and see white lines drawn on the ground, i heard it's for the guys in the plane to calculate how fast you are going by timing how fast you reach from one line to the other

Yea 84 (or maybe its 91) in CT has thsoe signs, I think they're on 95 too somehwere in CT. they use helicopters, but Ive rarely ever seen them actually doing it. As for the camera/toll booth thing, that only applies if you use one of those speed pass electronic toll payers because when you go through it includes the time of day, then at the next toll booth it does the same, there is an average speed(with slight speeding calculated into the avg.) and if you beat this, you'll get charged with speeding. My friend beat the average speed from a tool here in Northern NJ to one down in Southern NJ and got a ticket in the mail. My dad also got a ticket in the mail with a photo of his car cause he went through a toll 5mph too fast. Also, watch for cameras on top of red lights in busy intersections. The 2 main intersections in my town are rigged with cameras to catch people running red lights and I know a lot of places have them now, especially larger towns and cities.

Pa has a hellicopter that sits in one place on the highways and actually clocks your speed. Then the cops are down the road aways pullin the cars that were clocked over. Its happened to my boss, he got clocked doin 90 in a 55 by the hellicopter. plus you can see the lights on the copter it looks like the redlight special light at kmart.

The I-15 going to Las Vegas has those signs all over the place. Usually there aren't planes but on weekends and holidays you will definatly see one at some point during the day. They fly from the border of CA and Nevada to bakersfield and sometimes patrol in the cajon pass area...lots of deaths and accident because people speed and are stupid.

They have them all over Oklahoma and Texas. They are usually single engine planes. You know they are clocking you because you will see a light turn on right under the nose, and it turns off like 2 seconds later. Also you know them from the bottom of the planes having the word "State Patrol" painted on the belly of the plain.

those signs are mostly used as a form of deterrence (example, you see the sign, and you slow down bc you are scared of getting a ticket) but yeah, the aircraft are out there. haven't seen any in NY though.

I thought I heard somewhere that the police had to scrap this because it is illegal or something. Or maybe it was that if you contest the ticket, then the charges would be dropped. Either way its BS.

To whichever ****** that has the sig that says ricers make jesus cry is a piece of **** for saying that speeders kill people without putting in any concession statement that says that sometimes speeding doesnt kill.

If you go fast with very few cars on the road then speeding only kills yourself. Most of the time the people that kill others are the old people who go well below the speed limit and inattentive drivers who are doing other things besides driving. If you go fast in traffic and weave in and out then you are a crazy idiot that deserves a ticket. But most speed limit laws (at least on highways and freeways) are arbitrarily set (I understand residential and high volume of traffic areas, those speed limits are fine). Cops are just pigs wasting their time on speeders when the should be stopping DUIs, murder, rape and robbery. We as the people of the US should not be paying for cops to catch speeding cars and everything to do with drugs (because it is never going to work, besides f*ck up some casual users life and dealers just tryin to get by).

The using of planes to enforce radar zones is old hat. ****, my dad was telling me of when he was back in his muscle car days they were doing the same thing. He actually got nailed by aircraft right before he hit 140 mph in his dodge. Now its suddenly clear why I turned out the way I did........
