My brother who's sn I am using has a 02 Civic ex
and love it. I was just wondering since I have about $5,000 saved up and was looking to buy a car. I am 17 and am currently working. My question is in two parts.
a) What kind of car would you get if you could spend around $10,000? (used)
b) What kind of car would you get if you could spend around $15,000? (used)
Need to negotiate with the parents about how much they will let me spend.
Thanks for you input!

Just buy a new 7th gen... $15K will get you out the door with an LX, an EX for a bit more. $5K is a nice down payment, that's what I put on my EX and owe $226.80/60mo (It'll be payed off in 36 though)... now that interest rates are better, you can probably get it for less than that.
i'm not so sure about used car prices...
for about 15k my first choice would be an eclipse gst or gsx but i think you would be very lucky to find a good one for that much, next i would get a 99 or 00 civic si, then a 98 or 99 eclipse gs...these last two shouldn't be very hard to find for around 15k with a few miles on them, they are both very good engines and light cars with huge amounts of tuning options, but correct me if im wrong like i said i haven't checked prices for a while

You come to a 7th gen website and ask what car to buy???? Of course people are going to say 7th gen or Honda ...... Do some research then pick a car that suits your needs

Go with the 7th gen, it is the best choice of anything. It gets good gas mileage and it is pretty fast. Of course go with the ex it has the v-tec motor and that is what i have and i like it alot.

you'll probably get a better % rate on financing if you go new, so for $15k, an LX civic is a great choice, since it seems like you like your brothers car so much.
