congrats on the buy, you should tell the www.7thgen.com guys that the ex insn't fast, they'll go ape ****!
Man, how cares about what people say about the EX. I use to have a 01 EX. I traded it in for a new 02 SI. I love the SI. It it much faster. And I had a CAI, catback exhaust, ACT stage 2 clutch, koni struts, GC coilovers, and a shortshifter. After all of that, my SI is faster stock. So theres no need to make it a big deal. With all of the bolt ons, and a good driver, the EX can keep up and even beat a stock SI. So the EX can be fast, but it takes a lot of work to get there.
What a dumbass. Nobody on here thinks there car is actaully that fast and most people on here know that the Si will win. Hes just hating on us now because he has an Si and he wants to kiss up to the members over on ephatch.

yea because the si is soooo fast lol , anything with the word"civic" is slow it does not matter what 2 letters follow it (ie: ex , si) even the type r is is pretty slow for costing around 24k. i would rather have my 01 civic and be slow than have a new si and be slow and ugly.
They are being ridiculous and just desperately trying to make themselves feel superior to something through whatever means possible. In the process, you all realize they have made total dumb@$$es out of themselves.

I say props to DC5 and RedDragon for going there and "hopefully" setting them straight. I think that most of us, there are a few who think otherwise, know that our car isn't the fastest thing on the road. But as has been said, "it looks better going slow".

Sure My ex may not be fast in a straight line, but then again, I dont Race in a straight line.
In autocross, where weight is an important factor, the Si is an over weight pig. just like how our cars are overweight when you compair it to a 4th gen. Thats why Right now the 4th gen civic is the dominant car at the nationals for STS. Right next to the Impresa 2.5 rs, which would kill the little civic in the 1/4 mile.
Driver Skill, thats whats important not the platform you drive. For example, Here in Las Vegas, the local SCCA has a driver in HS that easily whoops the snot out of every one in his class as well as most people in 2 classes higher (This guy is amazing). what does this guy drive? a Hundi Tiberon, the old one too.
They, as well as many of us here need to learn that there is a whole lot more to racing then acceleration. Drag Racing is a Very small portion of the racing scene.

i want to say the Si is faster, but unfortunatly i cant.....both Si's that i raced lost but that was probably becuz both drivers were shitty drivers.. i'm not saying its a drivers race, but, go learn how to drive first before u try to race someone and then talk ****!

If I wanted to go fast for cheap, I would have bought a Camaro.

exactly. deal with the car you have and make the most of it.
I don't see what the big deal is. So what if an EX Civic is slower than an Si. The Si is just a small step above the EX stock Vs. Stock. The next step, RSX-S and in the end you're still driving a front-wheel drive Honda Civic since they're all pretty much the same car.
Bragging rights just for being .7 seconds faster stock? Woop-dee-doo ephatchers. If one of them wants to argue how well mods respond to the stock engine, sure the Si wins. But it would be no different if the EM/ES chassis carried the same engine as it CAN making both cars + the RSX the same ****ing car.
There is nothing spectacular about the Si. Like the RSX, it's still just a glorified Civic in the world of "cars that need to go faster."
