RSX miss shift, then Boom!!!!
I found this on another forum. This is what happens to a K20A2 when you miss shift and hit 16,200 RPMs.
The list of parts on the RSX was I/E and hondadata reflash.
Miss shift.

Yes it is very easy to miss shift in an RSX with that close ratio 6-speed they have. Plus it didn't help with the fact that he was showing off. He said that he was going to down shift into 4th when he is already at 7,000 rpms in fifth. It would have been ok sense he has Hondadata, so it would have not gone over the revlimiter, but he missed 4th.

i havent driven my car with the k20a2 in it yet, but i have a Revo along with the 6 speed, and i can tell you the gate is ridicuously tight. I can very easily see why people miss shift.
Now why that guy would think it would be a good idea to downshift at 7k is competely beyond me.

It's tricky to get used to at first, the gears are much tighter on my Type S than my Civic was and it seems odd shifting into 6th gear. I can't wait until the break in period is over...........

I misshifted once, I was going about 65 in 5th and went to downshift to 4th to pass a dump truck. I was used to the shifter in my for ranger and hadnt' had the civic long so I missed and went to 2nd, the rev limiter kicked in and the whole car shuddered for the whole half a second it took me to push back in the clutch.

oh well, if the guy can buy a type R engine after this, i'm sure he could afford this screw up
