Rumors of Exterior Changes for 2004

I am hearing vague rumors of exterior changes for the 2004 civic.

Here's what I found so far...

"Civic Collection, featuring upgraded styling and upgraded amenties in the Civic sedan, Civic coupe, Civic Si, and Civic Hybrid."

here's the link to the source of the info...

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...hreadid=123834

If anyone has more info, let's use this thread to start a compilation.

maybe the changes are that drastic and still would leave the 7thgen in its 4 year mark.

Its a little bit to late for them to do major changes to the car for 2004. But, honda hasn't released their 2004 line up.

honda isnt doing a MAJOR redesign for 2004, if anything they are going to refresh the design, just like the 98-00 accords are different from the 01-02, they are essentially the same car but with minor enhancements here and there, and just like the previous gen civic there were two different versions of the 6thgen, so i think its going to be a subtle change if anything, cant wait to see it!

Actually, from what I have read, and I WISH I could find it now, the 8th gen Civic will not be out until 2005 as an '06 model. This would mean a 5 year time frame for the 7th gen, which is pretty standard. The 6th gen Accord had a 5 year run from '98-'02. I hope it isn't changed until then, because that way, my '03 that I just bought 5 days ago will still seem new until 2005.

I agree with your statement. It's probably going to be like the new nose the integra got in 98'. I can't wait to see what parts can be swapped between the cars. It may be possible to "freshen" up our current cars with newer parts.

This is just speculation but, I think they may get some trickle down effect. More specifically, some of the styling cues from the newest Accord may make their way down to the Civic.

I agree that it looks nice (or I would'nt have bought one). However, how much power do you think Honda would put into an economy/commuter car? It's probably not going to happen but, it would be nice to see a limited run Civic Type-R. My personal "dream Civic" would be the coupe with a 200HP K20, limited slip diff, and appropriate suspension to carry it. As it stands now, if I want "that car" I'll have to build it myself. But we are getting way off topic...

Yes, they bolt in but you lose the side slot for a light. You know, that triangle on the side of the taillight. It's closed up, because they don't use it in Europe. If you want to stay street legal you are gonna have to use a Dremel and bore out the hole to put the 4th bulb in there.

whoever said it was 220 hp for the CTR, i think it's actually more around 200 hp. at least, that's what they've been and that's what i read in motor trend. it's the ITR that has a 220 k20.

Yea, the Integra Type R = 220hp

The Civic Type R = 197hp
