If i got the GSR, i would do JDM conversion in the front, and slap a Vortech Supercharger on it. ***** to the wall power, and a beautiful looking car.

be wary of the JDM FEC, it's going to cost about 2.5x what you think you would pay.

yeah just slap that s/c on with no engine work. No suspension work. just a jdm conversion. Great idea. Not only would you need to put about 1k into upgrades if you want to run any respectable psi, the s/c itself will put you down another 3k. And thats all without installation.

that's pretty much all it is.. and not by much, if any.

GS-R's handling capabilities are alot better, imo looks is better, Bseries are more upgradable then the Hseries engines, you can't really get any bigger of a motor in the prelude but you can always drop a B20 or even the H22 in a GS-R or any other integra so the possibilites are endless in an integra but the Prelude gets cut short after turboing the thing... The prelude's downfall is it's heavy body, it's too heavy so it doesn't make the best out of it's engine.

Prelude Type SH will out handle a GSR and im sure the Base will also.

In terms of upgrades its about the same you have a smaller market with the H22 but you will get more torque out of it.

How much will the FEC cost? I'm looking at a GS-R to possibly replace my '02 Civic and I thought the FEC would be cool.

There are two kinds, The "kit" and the OEM Conversion.

the OEM is very very expensive if you decied to buy all the parts brand new from honda but this is the only way to do it if you want it to fit right and look the best.

The OEM parts alone should come out to near 3k plus another 1-2k for the install and paint its time consuming but worth it in the end just dont half *** it and make sure its done right and you will have a clean looking intega with the JDM front end.

also if you want the HID front end add 1k to that here is one place you can buy the converison and other parts.

I always liked the GS-R, unlike what most people said, not because of modding, upgrade, blah blah blah, but just for how it is in it's plain form...just a very good car.... looked for one and ended up in a civic...now my taste grew up and want something more expensive... something different ...like an STi or a G35 coupe/Z

Well no sh*t sherlock that you would have to do motor work, suspension and stuff like that. I wasnt going to list every single mod that i would do to the car, there wouldnt be enough room on my post to list it all. And do you honestly think i really care about the money with me doing a K20A2 swap? hmmm...i dont think so
i dont mean to sound like an ***, ive had a really bad week so far...just venting.

H22 is not the biggest engine you can put in 97-01 preludes. THe h23a with vtec (220hp) is . As for handling I would take a base JDM prelude with 4ws.

Thanks. That's more or less what I thought it'd cost with the OEM parts. If I were to do it I'd do it right, or not at all. It would look great though.

Wrong.

H23A was never VTEC its a DOHC Non-VTEC 2.3L came in the 92-96 preludes.

The JDM Prelude Type S 97-01 is 220hp and was avalible in japan only.

You can Take the H23A Block And Add A H22A head Then You Have a 2.3L VTEC Prelude Engine but it never came that way from the factory.

the real power battle in this poll is the prelude sh/gsr

prelude sh came with a really heavy automatic, don't get that. otherwise if both are manuals they will be head to head. I have a gsr and sometimes it is just a dead tie.

The SH didnt come with tiptronic only the base did the SH came with a 5spd Manual with ATTS, and the ATTS gets pissy if you try to start putting high HP out of it.

Sorry, but you need to do a little more research. The JDM Accord wagon had a
h23a with vtec I think it was the 4wd model 92?-97?. Wasn't talking about the type S.
From what I rember it was a dog because of the 4wd. There's JDM h23a vtec ebay right now I think. I think that motor is a little bit more rare then a type S kind of like a 5gen with 4ws.

A accord with a stock h23a vetcThe JDM accord wagon with h23a vtec

looks like you need to brush up on your german

With the revision, the 2,3-ltr disappeared from the sedan in the year 1996, which led particularly to a changed front portion.Dohc engine from the program. It was replaced however by a similarly strong VTEC engine. At the same time Honda offered a Diesel engine for the first time. The aggregate with turbo-charge bought Honda with Rover.

Two 2,3-ltr.Engines with VTEC technology were available for this vehicle and it gave suitably in each case two equipments. Each of these variants could be ordered also with all-wheel drive.

they made 2.3 single cams you know there was no H23A VTEC sorry buddy
