alrite, my name is ryan. Ive andrews best friend. I have given him many of the ideas for the civic. When WE pulled the civic off the lot in 2000 we had no intention of building the car in the what it has become, and what a machine it has become. When he told me he wanted to sell his car i was like WTF are you thinking you moron. This is the civic, we have gotten so far on this car and were not giving up. This is almost as much as mine as it is his, cept his name is on the title. But what im saying is ive been there from day, from the day we put the aem cold air on the car till the day when i saw his rods come in the box from arias. And more. But i have thrown down many ideas for this car. Our main goal was to make it unique. This kid rolls around in money, hes got it everywhere, number one hes got a great job and he has his ways, and if doesnt concern you, dont ask. He just has a lot of money to do crazy stuff to a 2k1 vic. So anyway back to the car, we have pondered many ideas from a turbo to just going all motor. But then we thought about it, about a year ago, why dont you just build the motor as much as you can and dump as much nitrous as possible, and be able to run all day every day. So from then on, that was the goal. And you may think, well if you have so much money and this and that why isnt the car done. I want to see any of you take a brand new car and do something to it hat no one else has ever done and expect everything to go smoot. Yea rite. If any of you have ever done extensive motor work its not fun and games, there are times when your sitting in the garage banging your head against the wall cuz you cant figure out what to do. For example, for doing something that no one else has ever done, your going to have to make some completly custom parts. LIke, i bet none of you have even thought about destroking a 1.7 to a 1.6. HMM why do this. Well when your running a 175 shot 11.5 to 1 compression helps a lot. And its not as if a 1.7 crank fit rigt onto a 1.6 camshaft. Thats when you need to take a part to the machine shop and get it machined. And if any of you have ever been to a machine shop you know that machining a part takes time. So eight months to be at the point that were at now is not horribly bad, especially when your the first to do it. You may be asking why bot put a turbo or the hold K20. *&#^ the K20. It sucks. JR put a charger on it and it only threw down a 238. Not to respectable. But oh well its got its perks, it just doesnt like mods. And a turbo, why do a turbo, number one, vtech hates turbo, and number two anyone else in our boat who do a turbo, once again why be like everyone else. Its not every day you see a 2k1 with 175 shot of nitrous, or any car at that. And how fun is it to roll up next to some car with a body kit and this and that and smoke em. Youlll be amazed how many cars chase ya when they THINK your slow. And this civic has like no exterior mods, just all blacked out, its sick. Gunmetal hubs, tinted tails, and a loud exhaust, but when you get smoked by it, like many cars around this area have, but the word is starting to spread around here that if you happen to pull up to andrew, dont race, unless you got something serious. Its funny how fast the word spreads through real car guys. But yea, our next problem was how to get the civic to redline at something higher than 8200 rpms. The gsr ecu was out, so whats next the type r ecu. Our mechanic couldnt sleep one night, this is how dedicated he is to the civic, so he called andrew in the middle of the night with the solution. He said a type r ecu will work and if happens to not work, oh well, you cut your losses and move on. So the type r ecu was found and purchased, they are a bitch to find. And you may be wondering well how do you plan on running a direct port kit with a plastic intake manifold. Well we were wondering this ourselves, so what to do, get a metal one. Im not sure what its from but it fits perfect. The intake has to be cut and all but oh well its worth it. So the ecu and manifold is waiting, our mechanic also said that fuel was not going to be a problem, how sweet is that. Not expecting that. So these are some of the problems we have and its not like we solve them rite away then work on the car. It takes time, why put something on your car when you dont have the part thats gonna be required next, you gotta figure out what to do next before you do the current set up, thats where most of the problems occur. And as for the dyno sheets and what numbers this will put out, who the hell knos, we have nothing to compare it to. Im not saying any number just this: Picture yourlself in our shoes, now what will you have to do to the motor to achieve the goal of being able to run a 175 shot of nitrous all day every day. You all know your gonna need a lot of motor work. So figure all that motor work than the 175 shot and the car tuned perfect. Theres your number, believe what you want, but we will see, only time will tell. But dont expect everytime he posts here to have dyno sheets or have pics. Maybe take this info to your heart and do some work, this info is posted to learn to from it, weve done it, if you dont think we did, go back to all the posts on how to do it and do it yourself, if it doesnt work out, ask us, i gaurantee we can help ya with the problem your at. But anyway, we have the ecu and the manifold. All thats left is to obtain the two 10 lb tanks of the giggly and the nitrous control module. For those of you who know what a NCM is you know its sick. For those of you who dont, a NCM is a computer that controls the levels of nitrous being purged at certains rpm's in certain gears. Although i have never felt a straight shot of 175, i bet its sick, but this set up allows more maximum power, and you tune this NCM on the dyno, so why dyno the car now and were just going to have to dyno it later. And yes i do admit, the car doesnt run to great to rite now, well it has its good days and then it has its bad, just like girlfriends. But this car has a lot of work of a basically stock ecu, the car has no idea what the *&^# is going, just like some of you with your girlfriends. Wow cars and girls are similar in some ways. Anyway when this ecu is on and tuned we will see what happens, if we need to run a stand alone ignition to get the car and the computer working together, then so be it. But why not try a type r ecu for 10% of the cost of the AEM plug and play, which is the sickest engine management out to date. Its like windows for engine managment, its great. My biggest worry is that when the car gets dynoed you guys arent gonna believe and say its not his car and this and that. Were gonna have to post a video of the dyno run arent we. And for the kid who was talking ish with the picture of andrew. Jealousy is a bitch isnt it. hahaha Andrew graduated high school in 2001 with an intake on his car. Thats why his car posted crap times. But when he got outta school he fell into a great job. So picture 19 year old kids with almost no concern for money and no concern on how a car looks going down the 1/4, just how damn long it takes us. Theres your answer. Well anyway, just be patient and the car will be finished, im not here to start anything, just inform, and thats all andrew was here to do. So take what you want from this, but i gaurantee this car is on the road and will be posting a nice dyno number, who knows what it will be, but you guys will see. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT... remember that, the civic is almost done, but far from over
