Fun fact:

The word "Koenig" is actually "König," which is German for "King."

But if you don't have an ö on your keyboard, or you move to a country where they don't use ö, you just throw an e after the letter instead.

And please don't pronounce it "Ko-nig"

That car owns, btw..

Actually it's Koenigsegg, not König. König makes wheels...but you are correct König does mean king in german and it's also spelled Koenig. Koenigsegg is Swedish. I'm not exactly sure on the pronuctiation, I remember I asked my friend who speaks Swedish once how to say it but I forgot. All I remember is that it's nothing like it is spelled.

That car is suppose to be the fastest car in production.

Go look at that page, the older ones go from 0-60 faster than the new one. Weird, huh?

I think that was only in theory, on paper. I dont think it was ever proven. I think the McLaren F1 still holds the record of 241mph, not sure though. I read on the Koenigsegg's website that its numbers were higher & that they were hoping to beat the record, not that they ever did, havent heard otherwise yet. Wasnt aware that it was in production yet either, I thought it was still a prototype. I dunno, I could be wrong. I still say the McLaren is better looking & better performing, being N/A & a McLaren, but thats just my opinion. The Koenigsegg is a badass freaking car but the McLaren still remains my favorite. I have a friend that actually got to ride in one in England, that bastard...

"2002-11-14
High-speed tests.

On Sunday the 10th of November 2002 Koenigsegg conducted the first high-speed tests at the Nardo/Prototipo high-speed track.

The tests were kept unofficial in spite of the high media interest due to the risks involved. Koenigsegg rented the 12km long track exclusively with a medical team for a few ours in order to set the car up for future speed records.

Test driver Mr. Loris Bicocchi conducted the first shakedowns of the car and he was very satisfied with the preliminary results.

Unfortunately it started to rain one hour into the tests. However, before a too heavy rainfall, Mr. Bicocchi managed to drive 365 km/h according to company measurements, which was not pushing the car to full speed - only a shake down run!

Koenigsegg now feels more confident than ever that the car will be able to reach the acclaimed top speed.

Christian von Koenigsegg:

-This day was a very important milestone for the CC. It has shown us what it really can do and that it truly is a Supercar. The car performed very well at these high-speeds and was able to maintain cool in oils and water over a long period. We will keep on pushing the borders and within short we feel confident that we officially will be the fastest production car in the world."

The seats use the same material as the seats on the space shuttle. I forget what it's called.
Anyway, i LOVE that car! For one, not too many people have heard of it, AND it's freakin lighter than our cars
