Likewise, if someone here said, yeah my 2k2 DX sedan beat a new cavalier Z24 5 spd, not only would the cavalier guys call BS, but most of us would as well. That's another difference between that site and this one. If they have some "amazing" kill story, all the little SRT4 ricers are like "haha yeah SRT4's are the fastest car evAr". They are idiots.

Im waiting for the day
Those guys are just ricers, thinking their cars own!! It takes some maturity to distingush between a good kill & a lucky one. I've seen that maturity here..
Why does everyone think American cars are bad?
Almost all our civics are built in the US.
The US cos own most of market.
Ford owns jaguar & Aston- Martin & Volvo cars
Chrysler & Mercedes- Benz have merged
GM owns Opel, Saab....
Design/ Build quality is now pretty much on par across the world for the major car maunfacturers.

Build quality is not on par accrost the world. I know, Ive worked on cars for 5 years as a Body tech Assistant. EXample, WHen a car is designed, a blue print is created, that shows the mesurement of what would be a "Perfict" car of that make. In japan and Europe, a car coming off the assembly line is allowed to be +-3 milimeters of the mesuring points of that Blue print. In the US the standard is +-7 milimeters. 7 milimeters may not seem like a lot, but add that up over say 3 points, and you have just under 3 centimeters, which is about 1 inch. If you want a Visual on what this looks like on a car, just go to a Ford Dealership, and check out a brand new Mustang. Look at the gaps around the Trunk, and how flush the sides are with the Height of the Quartar pannels, I guarantee that the trunk is not sitting Properly on that car. Thats why I dont buy american, not because I dont like the styles, but because I know how they are put together. Note: Although most of our cars are built in the US, they are still held to the +-3mm standard.

B. so what if it's torqueless.... do you think that the finish line cares who has more torque? when i beat an SRT4 in the 1/4 mile, do you think the torque fairy gives them a cookie cuz they have more torque? If torqueless wonder is your best argument, you must be FAR superior in linguistic debate than I am.
C. Cost is irrelevant. Whether a $10,000 car is faster or an $80,000 car is faster I don't care. You can't find another roadster new from the dealer for $32k that is as fast and handles as well as the S2000. Period.

STR 4, 20995$, gas milage 29/36
Accord coupe V6, 23400$ gas milage 29/32
for only 3000$ less, it seems stupid to get SRT4 which rated lower class than accord, less reliable, smaller yet worth gas milage...
That car is ONLY designed for drag race, that is, it is designed for straight line. If one buys a car purely for drag he/she really really must be out of his/her mind. And really really immature. Come on, in real life how many people actaully DOING DRAG RACE AS THEIR CAREER?

The same mentality exzists here, I see it all over the place, "Our cars are so slow" Shure its slow at 0-60, but it makes a pretty decent Autocrosser. I think my Point is that there is a lot more to a cars performance then just HP and acceleration.

ANd please listen to this guy, all straight-line-freaks.
IF YOUR SRT4 beat civic in only in straight line but loss to civic in autocorss (or any kind of race require turning), then weither your driving skill or your car is handicapped.

yea i was also wondering how she went from the stock 14.1 to a 12.6 with only a 50hp gain.... That should put her in the low 13's, maybe high 12's with the right tires if im not mistaken, somethin fishy...
I love how on the dodge site its just about how much they hate hondas. I find it a compliment. For when they experience my car, it will show how much "honduhhh" sucks.
Seriously, I have a respect for what the srt-4 is doing with such little money, but when all i hear is the other side bashing hondas left and right it makes me laugh.
Now, Im not saying that my car is the fastest thing on the planet, by no where near that, but when somebody is saying **** about going 190 in a stock srt-4, you have to ask why this person's parents procreated in the first place.
Oh, and I just love when all of the srt-4 owners swear thats its not neon, and when dodge tries to cover up the fact that its tuned neon by saying its not has to make you wonder if they are trying to cover up for something. lets be honest with ourselves:
SRT-4= Tuned Turbo Neon
STI= Tuned Subaru Impreza WRX
EVO= Tuned Mitsubishi Lancer/Mirage
You guys dont have to go out and make it seem like its a new type of car out on the market. When a company tries to cover up something, it looks like they are trying to compensate for something that they missed....
Also, if theres any dodge srt-4 owners in the northern IL/southern WI Id love to see what the SRT-4 can do against my "honduhhh" next spring. Because as they said, only pussies own "honduhhhs"

Like I said before, there is a reason why the SRT4 is so cheap compared to the speed factor. The saying "you get what you pay for" is certainly no exception to the SRT.

The SRT-4 is going to hurt the convertible mustang 6 cylinder the most if you ask me. Currently the main car driven by wannabees who can't afford a real sports car is that particular Mustang. They like to drag race 17 year old kids in civics and corollas and laugh when they beat them.
The SRT-4 is cheaper than the mustang, so all the wannabees are naturally going to gravitate to it. Just know that while you're out whipping up 17 year olds in civics that one night you're going to run into a man with a real car and he is going to embarass you.
We own Civics, so we know humility. The SRT-4 drivers are going to have to learn it to.

Yep, we drive Civics, but its ok, because they last a long time. The "you get what you pay for" factor does seem to come into play here as well, those cars are just not as well built, and wont be as reliable as a car thats just as fast but costs $30K+. also, alot of them are the typical domestic line of thought: Detroit this and Hemi that, they belive that LOTS of power is the only way to win, but they give no reguard to technology, like the fact that the Eclipse turbo motor is .4L smaller, and yet makes MORE Hp and tourqe in the Evo. and I would really like to see an SRT-4 really beat an S2000 in any sort of real event other than a drag race(and even then Im pretty skeptical myself)

I don't see what the big deal is over this debate. If the srt 4 guys hate me cuz I'm driving a civic, all I would have to do is "REMEMBER THAT I DON'T CARE". The car is fast; I can't predict the reliability of the auto cuz I don't have a crystal ball; I don't care how it looks because I don't have to drive one; If one tries to race me, he will win! I think that the numbers are impressive for the price....but, guess what......I bought an eco friendly honda so what does it matter what someone thinks of me. For those who find it necassary to say the car sucks just because its ugly, keep digging for justification on your jealousy. If you don't like the car then don't buy it. Let that be the end of it rather than saying "it's still a neon" or "it's still ugly" or even "they are all ricers" REALLY, WHO THE FVCK CARES. It was faster than the civic yesterday, today, and probably will be tomorrow. If you don't drive it....leave it alone. You just make yourself look like a petty child that doesn't like anybody with toys better than your own.

You guys are missing one key factor when you claim that Civics will last longer.
Any car can last for 200k+ miles, ANY car... let it be Civic or Neon. I think what you guys really mean is that while our Civic is racking up the milege they will require a lot less repairs and less maintence then a Neon would for example.
Bottom line is that a Civic and a Neon can last forever, but for the first 100k miles of the Neon's life there would be a lot more parts that fail compared to a Civic.
I'm talking about odds of course, nothing is a guarantee but since Dodge's history of making poorly built cars is overwhelming it is safe to make that statement.
So please dont say "our cars last longer" because thats a typical rice boy defense mechanism kicking in.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that thinks this way...
