94-95 GS-R's because they are OBD1 and they respond better to mods because of less sensors.

equal mods on a 94-95 vs a 96+ the 94-95 will win

The OBD 1 will respond better to modifications...there are far less restrictions...pretty much stock vs. stock, it's virtually the same. I wouldn't base my decision on just that though...you can always do an OBDII to OBDI conversion...OBDII throws out alot more codes, which will be able to assist you in any problems you have with the car.....pretty much, troubleshooting will be alot easier....now since your trying to make your car run 13's...I suggest you stick with a 94-95 or get a newer car and do the obdII>>>OBDI conversion...reason being, I will suggest you get a HONDATA, it's an excellent piggyback EMS (Engine Management System) you will of course need to get it professionaly tuned but let's not worry about it now.

When you do get the teg, check out the site specifically for the GS-R.

well aside from a few HP as you mod......the newer the better...so your thinking wasn't really way off base....98-01 has a few cosmetic changes...different front and back end..hard to tell if you don't know much about integras... I believe 2000-2001 GS-R's come standard leather....I personally like my cloth interior, this way I can purchase Del Sol seats later..get that bucket seat and still maintain the stock look, I believe you also sit about 3 inches lower with the Del Sol seats.

Another thing to remember HUH_Oh,

I think the 99-01 models have the OBDII.1 or OBDIII whatever you want to call it, this puts even more restrictions on the car but allows for better troubleshooting....

so here is the breakdown

94-95----OBDI
96-98-----OBDII
99-01-----OBDII.1(OBDIII)

I've done quite a lot of research on OBD scan tools and I've never heard of obd II.1 or obd III... is that specific only to the integra or acura/honda?

on board diagnostics... it's what gives you the check engine light... it has codes for different sensor readings or sensor malfunctions. It can output real time speed, odometer (in some cars), throttle position, intake air temp, fuel trim.. etc... in some cars it can detect tires with low pressure through ABS sensors (ABS sensors measure tire rotation for each tire, if one tire rotates faster than the others in a straight line, that tire is low in air)... it's cool. It's the key element to Nology's $350 PDA dyno. I think it's possible to access the ECU through the OBD interface if you can break the encryption and if you have the right pins connected on the OBD plug. Those are big IFs.

from what I've read the 99-01 models of the integra have a slightly more restrictive obd II then the previous models (96-98) as far as them being called OBD II.1 or OBD III, that could just be a way to referring to some of the OBD changes made to those years... I don't know if it's officialy called OBD II.1 or OBD III is what I'm trying to say but that's what we refer it to.

its usually refered to as OBD II B, in 1999 the added an aditional 02 sensor and a couple of other things so its not as mod friendly as a 94-95 car.

You can get an OBD1 conversion harness basicly you plug your OBD1 ecu into a jumper that plugs into the wire harness this is usually what people who want to run a reprogramed ecu for cams and other mods run.

The other problem being only 94-95 and 96-98 ECU's can be reprogramed no one can reprogram 99-01 ecu's in terms of the B Series
