GM's 24 hour test drive
Has this already been posted? I did search, but nothing turned up. I just saw a commercial about GM's new 24 hour test drive. Now you can actually take a car home with you and everything, so that you can get a better feel of how it really is.... without the salesperson in the passenger seat or back seat.
I thought it was pretty cool... Do you think it will catch on?
Also, you have to be 21 years of age, with a valid license and a certain credit rating.

I haven't heard of it but i'm gonna go ahead and assume that theres only certain cars you could do this with, or a lot of the higher model cars that you couldn't do this with, such as the corvette.

sounds cool to me. maybe ill go "test drive" a saab one of these days. hehe
i think theres some sort of catch in there tho. like you cant just walk in there and drive off w/ a car for 24 hours...you probably have to like sign some papers and pretty much show them youre a serious buyer, not just some schlep. but it sounds like they just rent out floor models or something. heh

I took the Civic on 3 different test drives. 1st time was with a dealer for about a half hour. 2nd was for about 2 hours, with out the salesperson. They gave me a little sheet of paper, and a dealer plate. That was fun
3rd was for about an hour also without the salesperson. Sounds cool, I want to test drive that new Grand Prix. Someone from www.mnsportcompacts.net just bought one, and it loks like a tight ride.

Actually, you can testdrive ANY GM car... including the Hummer H2, Corvette, Saab and Cadillac models. There is a slight catch though, you have to have insurance and a car of your own to leave at the dealership overnight. Also, if they feel you or your car look kinda shady they will run a credit check on you before letting you out with the car. You're allowed 100 miles over the course of the 24 hour test drive. Personally, there are no GMC cars that I want to drive that I haven't driven yet. That being said, I would like to take a Corvette convertible out for 24 hours on a nice sunny day, that or a Saab 9-3 convertible.
