Right now a k20 is to much, but it will be less to maintain than a turbo d17

save up for the K20 swap. You could fix that up later if you want to! (the potenial out of fixing up a K20 is MUCH more that just fixing up a D17)

IMO from a money standpoint i don't think either one is worth it right now. for the price of a k20 swap, you could buy a EG hatch and swap in a H22A, or a CRX with a b18 and turbo, which would spank the hell out of a k20 civic. i've seen the k24 going for about 1500-2000 already, and HAsport says they plan to make a mount kit for that motor too, so i think that may be a more cost-effective solution in the near future. i'm not sure what the subframe consists of, but i think its entirely possible for someone to make an aftermarket version of the civic SI's subframe as part of a swap kit for our cars.

IMO I wounld go with the K20. A k20 is more expensive but you will be able to squeeze more hp out of it. I don't know for sure but i think the k20 gets better gas mileage than a turbo d17. if you do go with the turbo remember not to be boostin' alot cuz your stock internals will not be able to withstand the pressure. It would be smart to replace them with a gude package. Skunk 2 makes many internals, for previous gens, i have not checked if they make any for ours.
