Yeah, I'd rather have a car that I only have to do minor maintenace on, rather than one that I gotta do alot of work on, especially after the warranty runs out. I'll stick to my Honda.

I hate american cars, civics are the best, i hate seeing those focus and Mustangs on the road. The best part about the new Fast n Furious is when the Mustang get run over but a tractor trailor im going to stand up and cheer in the theater when i see it!!!

That power displayed is to the wheels, which isent that bad. A couple points to make, 1. No matter how fast it is, its still a focus. Id rather pick up a girl in a Civic even if it is slower. 2. Did you see that engine bay? Its more cramped than ours how could you even work on it without having to lift the entire engine out?! 3. Reliability, and gas milage are undoubtably inferior to the Civic even the Civic Si. 4. Resale value on Focus SUCKS. BTW I dont know how much you guys paid, but I paid 13,000 for my EX and thats a pretty damn good deal considering that it will take forever for the resale to drop.

To be honest, I was kinda saddened when I saw the Mustang Saleen crushed between those trucks . I wish it was a Focus or Neon instead of the Saleen.

But yah, I'd still choose my Vic over that Focus.

Does the new focus come with a built in recall light? You know, so when it has recall after recall, it just flashes a light to let you know your life is in danger if you don't get to the dealer ASAP?

Jhonda has a little shameless behaviour in the past
?

Well I traded my civic in for a Svt focus as some of you already know.
all this happened within 3 months, and 10000miles so here goes when I first baught my civic the day I drove it off the lot the gas tank lid wouldn't open, then 2 weeks later the transmission went out completely gone, then 3 days later the cv joint poped which threw the axle in the ground which also inturn funked up the transmission again. Then it wouldn't even run unless the AC was on for some reason honda never fessed up to anything. So lets not go there about a civic being superior to a domestic.

As for power adders for these civics compared to a focus don't even go there there are regular focus zx-3 with a few bolt ons and a cam running 14 sec 1/4 miles. Then there is a street legal focus that was in scc magazine that ran 12.54 with nitrous and a turbo I have rode in it and it is a beast.
Then theres the car I got a FORD FOCUS SVT with now 13000miles on it with no problems at all (knock on wood) With a few simple bolt ons under a $1000 I have gained 26 hp. and stock it will out handle alot of much more expensive cars (acura rsx-s, mustangs, camaros,
civics <even slightly modifed ones, and a couple of newer vetts)

And for s2000man usually I agree with you but at least for admits when there cars have problems unlike most hondas (no offence)

Oh and by the way the new civics have 210 TSB's out on them according to yalls problems section.

ugh, i heard that the new focus was getting a face lift, new styling. guess not. i also hear that the new engine was going to be the protege engine. i have my doubts about ford actually making a 4 cyl. that has over 150 hp. focus' reliability is actually lower than the GT mustangs... if you can believe it. i checked multiple sources and they have crappy reliability.
i like the new WRC focus though.

Jhonda, I think me and you both agree the ford focus is the worst evAr as far as recalls and safety issues goes. That's a fact, and I'm amazed anyone even buys one of those things.

The SVT focus on the other hand, fortunately avoided that ship altogether and did much better than it's weak and recall-stricken brother.

By the way.... as to your mention of TSB's. TSB's can be anything from a service manual update, driver's manual update, settings change, minor problem, etc, etc.

Safety recalls for wheels falling off, airbags starting on fire, etc, are completely different. I'd rather have the TSB's for "rattles" than to have my wheel fall off, causing me to fly into a tree, in which my airbag deploys too early, and then starts on fire.

im with you on this one, i have heard over and over again about all the recalls of the Focus having and im for one happy that the majority of the TSB's are for small rattles and things of that nature rather then serious **** that can get you killed

My 02 HX is my first Honda. I've driven nothing but various Ford models before. I'd have to say...I wish I had gotten another Ford. The only thing that really sold me on the Civic was the MPG figure. Too bad I didn't know that it dropped like a rock during the winter (winter gas = 28mpg in my HX). Compared to Ford cars, driving around in a Civic feels like I'm driving a little kid's toy. Once I nail down a steady job the Civic will be gone, and I will be once again in the seat of a Mustang or Police Interceptor.
