If you aint a Citizen don't Street Race!
The man who struck and killed pedestrian Irene Thorpe during a street race has been ordered deported.
Last week, Canada Immigration initiated a deportation hearing against Sukhvir Singh Khosa, 21, and Bahadur Singh Bhalru, 23.
On Monday, a judge ruled that Khosa is inadmissible to Canada.
A decision has not yet been made on a deportation order against Bhalru, 23, who was convicted of racing with Khosa at the time of the crash.
Khosa and Bhalru were racing in November 2000 when Khosa lost control of his car and hit Thorpe, 52, as she walked home from work.
Khosa's deportation will not occur immediately, as defence counsel has stated it plans to appeal the order.
Under the new Immigration Act, non-Canadians convicted of an offence punishable by at least 10 years in jail may be found inadmissible in the country.
Khosa and Bhalru were convicted in February of criminal negligence causing death, and were given two-year conditional sentences to be served at home under house arrest.
The perceived laxity of the sentences caused a public and political outcry that reached all the way to the House of Commons. The Crown has appealed both sentences.
Bhalru's lawyer, Russ Chamberlain, said last week the deportation proceedings against his client stem from "bigotry" and "hysteria."

Sure sounds that way, doesn't it. I think it's simple. He gets stuck in jail for 10-15yrs. , then when he gets released, he gets deported. That way, he wouldn't know anybody where he goes, and would feel like a total outcast.

Thats stupid, first of all keep it on the tracks the fact that people think about and commit street racing in areas that only create hazards for others should be re-thought. And the fact that these kids are getting off for what they did just goes to show how much things in the higher power realm need to be redesigned
oooo get deported from Canada! damn that sux. you know that the Canadian government only want to save money by not having to feed non canadian prisoners. i personally do not blame them cause i'd do the same thing.
