any news on the 8th gen
any news on the 8th gen
any1 know what the 8th gen civics going to look like, i got my 2k1 in november 2000 and am ready to trade it in for a manual for some kind of turbo kit coming out hopefully before 2004 , but if 2004 is starting a whole new generation, then i want to wait and see what it looks like first.
I should look first, but are there any other dampers besides Koni's, I hate to have the shop go through to much work again putting a puzzle together, (koni's use parts from the OEM struts if you dont know what im talking about).

It will be out in 2005. The civic platform runs on a 4 year term so 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 are 7th gens. 2005 marks the first year for the 8th gen.

You don't wanna buy the first year of the 8thgen though, it will have all the bugs in it. For the ideal car you would get the 2nd year(2006) model or later to get the best version of the 8thgen.

IMO selling an Auto civic for a stick civic is a waste of money. You lose out either way ( get an older car or you lose money ). Should just save up and upgrade to a better car w/ stick.

hopefully i can afford a better car than an 8thgen civic when i graduate (that should be around 2005
i hope!)... unless they provide some significant upgrades/features... at worst, i'll probably get an 8thgen Acura EL
all i can see honda doing is simply bumping up the d17 to a d18 or d20 or something just as exciting hehe...

Here is an interesting site from Motor Trend on future vehicle reviews. It is one of the few places where I have found any speculation on the 8th gen Civic. Honda can be very quiet about its business plans.
Next Civic
The rest of the site is good too.

I like this ....
2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse: All-new Eclipse will be built in Illinois on the SS platform shared by the Montero Sport and Galant, with production targeted at December 2004. A convertible Spyder model will follow.
