I almost hit the Lancer Evolution VIII.
Yea so lemme jus say Im a porter at a Mitsubishi and VolksWagen before anything.
Last night we got the new Lacer Evo VIII and they are crazy nice
I drove it around in the back and the turbo is jus too much to handle
Anyways we clean it up and bring it to the glass show room upstais.
Later that day I had to move a Montero Sport right next to the Lancer.
I didnt think much of it but as I was backing up a salesmen yelled out for my to stop.
Right then I somehow found the courage to get out fo the car and look what I had done.
I was so scared, I seriously thought I crushed the poor thing.
The front corner of the bumper was slightly touching the center of the rim.
Im like, "HOLY $#%&!!!"
Montero's have concaved rims, sorta liek deep dishes but not to that extent.
I pull out slowly and I inspect what happened.
No damage at all, not even a small nick in the paint, there was some tire shine on the bumper, thas about it.
I couldnt see where it was exactly, but thas no excuse jus a really close call.
(Little did I know someone moved it after I saw where it was in the morning earlier)
I jus had to say that.
Take care!

I dunno...the price mightbe around 22s-30s somethings. Pretty up there though. Well...just like anything you buy, if you are a good bargainer (is this a word?) then you might be lucky.

At my old dealership, we used to have stuff like that happen all the time. One time a tech dented up a new car that was supposed to be picked up by the customer later that day. They just sent it to a body repair shop and had it back in plenty of time for the customer. The customer never had a clue that their car had been in a minor wreck before they took deliver on it.

dealerships that mark stuff up suck. the nissan/mitsubishi place here is still marking up 350z's. theyve got one in show room thats around $40,000. im sure if they get a new evo8 any time soon (i doubt it) theyll mark it up to around $38-40,000 as well.

Heh Yea I totally lucked out. Everyone was making fun of me today
The price is EXACTLY 30,057 for a Lancer With optional spoiler.(in my dealership)
THE ONLY 2 OPTIONS ARE SPOILER AND SUNROOF.
The Spoiler is ONLY about 450 bucks! Made of real Carbon Fiber the way around, not jus the blade, painted too! THAT IS CHEAP!!
There are 2 BOGUS mark-ups The enviromental package....which is so bull crap, if I woulda told you exactly what it was you would go nuts!
And the dealer trade in mark-up which is basically different for every dealership. You will find Evos close to 40 grand in some areas.
Thanks InamineCarbonRod for visiting!! I got off work for about 30mins
Maybe he'll post some pics up at the site, tha'll be cool.
HtowncivicEX is totally right. it happeneds, they take it to a body shop and it fixes it right up before delivery.
Even if I woulda hit it it would only be a scratch on the side of the bumper but its the fact it's such a nice car, and only a few hours old.
If I woulda gotten fired for that, wow that would seriously be bogus.
EDIT-spellcheck

Yes, Markups do suck. When I bought my WRX, they wanted 4k over MSRP. But the same dealer was doing Internet sales (wait 6 weeks to get your car) for 800 over invoice.
Hell, the local Honda dealer even marks up the Civic by 1000 bucks
And for 40k, I'd just go find a dealer that is still marking down the C5 coupe. Outperfoms the 350Z easily, even if it is more common...
once again, markups suck...

ok, I have pics of both EVOs. The red one is the one SLeePeR012 is talking about. (it's already sold too!)
Notice the Montero in the background w/ the red EVO
Mitsu Lancer EVO 8
