Which car for wife?

I need some opinions on which car to get. I am currently looking at the Volvo V40 and the Jetta 1.8t wagon. I was thinking about the WRX wagon, but it's Butt Fugly. Please no comments on getting a wagon. Due to a recent addition to our family it has become a necessity.

I appreciate your input

you dont like the wrx wagon?? i think it is soo much nicer looking than the jetta wagon and volvo wagon, i think they are to square looking. but hey it is your choice. you can wait until the new dodge wagon comes out. blown hemi motor and 20 inch rims. it looks mean as hell. by the way, your kid is cute! props to you.

Get the Mazda 5 Protege Wagon. It is actually one heck of a nice vehicle. I'm thinking of even trading in my vic for one when my kid is born

Was that maybe a joke? As much as I would love a prelude, I don't think it has quite enough space.
As far as something HONDAish, I have been looking at the Element, but my wife hates it

Of the 3 cars you listed, for a family, I would get the Volvo. JDog mentioned Protege 5, that would be good too. If you want to stay Honda, (too bad there is no more Accord wagon), maybe the previous generation CR-V or the current CR-V.

Volvo is a good Choice don't know what your price range is but you could get a a6 wagon those are sweet my dad used to have one. Protege 5 is a good price too. The passat wagon is a bit nicer than the jetta but it's depends if you wanna spend the extra money for it. I would say 1.)Volvo 2.)Protege 5 3)Jetta 4) Passat.

You can get a Honda Pilot...those things are new. It can seat eight ppl including the driver. Very nice and would definately recommend it.

Yeah it's too bad Honda doesn't make the accord wagon anymore. As of now the Volvo is #1 in my book. Specifically because of the safety factor, but they also have some pretty good deals going on now. I'm looking at a new 2003 with the Sport package with leather and the climate package for about $22,400

The Pilot is a sweet ride but the price is a little steep for me

I was looking at one yesterday and as much as I like the sedan, the sportcross just looks like a mistake to me.

I am almost certain that every vehicle in hondas lineup has a 5-star frontal crash rating and I think side as well. Safety coupled with the peace of mind that your wife is driving one of the most reliable makes in the world - priceless. I know, I have a 3 yr old and one on the way.

I don't really care for the other three choices in the least for numerous and obvious reasons. In the end, let HER pick it out. Well, if I had to pick from your 3, the subaru would be my choice.

You're right, Honda is doing very well in the safety department, but the Volvo has side and curtain airbags in the front and curtains in the back. What are the numerous and obvious reasons why you don't care for the other three?

Your family´s safety should be your priority now. The Volvo V40 sounds like an excellent option, though the model is about to change.

How about a CRV? Great space, compact exterior and 5 star crash rating?

I would also consider a 4 door Accord. Not a wagon, but still has a very good trunk and your wife won´t look like a soccer mom.

I'm a protege 5 owner and probably the only one on this forum. I can tell you that it's a great econo sports hatch/wagon (really it's a hatch cuz it's shorter than it's sedan counterpart). BUT if you have the money, go for the Volvo - power, quality and safety. Spend the $ for your child. It's worth it.
