anyone know about civic hybrids?
i've recently decided to change my bumper to the civic hybrid but my mechanic says there's an extra spoiler piece for the front bumper. it's gonna run me an extra $80. any of you know if it will make a difference if i get it or not? here's a pic of it. it's the black spoiler under the bumper.

Why do you want to get the civic hybrid front? When you can get a aftermarket one and maybe for cheaper?? Why get a bumper thats going to be on every hybrid? In a couple months hybrids will be everywhere and you will be seeing more of that front bumper. Why not just wait till some guy puts a bodykit on their hybrid? Then you can go and buy theres for alot cheaper?

Are you talking about the rubber lip? Trust me, swapping bumpers will not increase the overall stability at all.
Some guy on this site had it swapped in a coupe though... i remember it was a blue one.

I think anyone who is planning on buying a civic Hybrid has modifications of any kind on his/her mind, except maybe a sound system. The Civic Hybrid was designed to be a superb economy car. 57 mpg is not to be reckon with. I doubt that a consumer who buys a civic hybrid will be planning on upgrading to a more agressive body kit anytime soon. But, hey anything can happen.
hey, i saw ur ride around tabler quad a couple of times...looks pretty tight.....but seriously...i think the bumper you got rite now looks way better than the hybrids....if its not broken....it doesnt need to be fixed
for those of you that don't know, my car is already fully kitted. the reason i'm changing my front bumper is because i have already cracked it in half due to the snow. read thread here --> thank you nyc sanitation dept i've had a full kit on for 2 years and it is a pain in the *** to drive. i have to worry about ramps everywhere i go. usually before i go somewhere i've never been before i have to ask "hey do you know if there's a steep entrance ramp?", or "do you think my car can make it there?". it's very frustrating driving a daily driver that can't go many places. to give you a little perspective, my front bumper sits 3 inches off the ground, and the lowest part of my sideskirts sits 2 inches off the ground. every ramp i encounter i must use the diagonal approach and sometimes that doesn't even work. i constantly scrape on speed bumps and i'm forced to take alternate routes in queens. in fact, i can't even go to many places in queens thanks to our roads. there is only one parking lot in flushing i can park at, if my neighbors park too close to my driveway i will scrape entering my own driveway. i have to go to select gas stations which i know i can make it to and bklyn & manhattan are out of the question. i get lucky when i go see my gf in rockland county cuz the bronx river isn't so bad except for the little bridge by the bronx zoo. to the ones that complemented on my ride, thanx, but as you can see there are sacrafices i must make for it and i no longer am willing to sacrafice it anymore. i want to be able to go to the wendy's, white castle, or taco bell drive thru's late at night when i feel like munching on some greasy food. i want to be able to go to fill up on gas at my nearest gas station. so why did i decide for the hybrid? cuz i'm pretty much going back to stock. my sideskirts are coming off, my rear bumper is being replaced and so is my front. but instead of getting the regular sedan front bumper i've decided to jus pay $30 more for the hybrid. they've actually tested that car in a windtunnel so i know it's more aerodynamic as well. most of the aftermarket kits do nothing for aerodynamics, they just weigh down your car. all in all i decided to retire because it's a civic. i'm planning to hand this car down to my sis when i graduate and land a steady job. then i wll buy myself a real sports sedan. hehehehe. btw i'm selling my kit if anyone wants it. when it comes out of the shop i'll look at the condition and determine a price. since it's damaged it'll be cheap. it's been fun guys but the game ends for me here. no more mods. well, at least until my next project.
