On the vin if it starts with a j it is from Japan, a 1 is America, and 2 for I believe Mexico but not sure maybe Canada. I heard once that if the car was made in Japan it tends to have a better resale value [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

Ha! If you are 'lucky' enough to have a Japanese-made civic, you're going to pay 2 or 3 times more money for replacement parts. At least that's what the dealer found when he checked something for me.
