Acura RSX Type S
What does everyone think of this car now that it has been out for a couple of years? Does anyone here own one? What do they think of it? I like the DC5/200hp. part of it, what about you?
I sure wish my car was newer

There is an entire section of this site devoted to the RSX.
I like it. If I could do it all again, I'd probably buy one. But its not worth it to me to trade now. I was seriously looking into getting a base RSX w/leather and 5-speed tranny this past summer, but... depreciation sucks.

The K20A2 is a very nice motor to work with. With i/h/e and Hondata, you will be putting down decent numbers.
After owning one I don't think the price is worth the car- you can build a faster Honda for cheaper.

I love mine!! Yeah it is a little expensive but I think it was worth it. I love when all the little ricers around town rev up on me and try to race. I take them with no probem now, and these are the same ones that i was iffy about racing in my civic!!! Not downing the civic AT ALL, I loved mine, but I have no complaints with my S either. Not to mention that the motor responds very well to just a plain old intake. Injen dynoed 18hp to the wheels after installing a SRI with a heatshield.
I got some pics of it but they arent really that exciting!!! It is pretty stock right now. Just lowered with exhaust and an intake. Got some chrome parts for the motor and Im waiting for my chrome valve cover to get abck from being done. I ordered 19" Racing Hart S15's for it but I just got to come up with the rest of the cash to get them. Ill get some pics up when it gets underway a little more
Im admitting I have a problem. I'm obessed w/ the RSX-S. If i was a broke beotch, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I've even gone so far as to pull over when I see one just to look at it :-X I'm considering getting help...lol I'm ashamed

i love the RSX type S. My friend has one, he's decked it out with japanese stuff. C-west cf hood and kit, volk 17's, mugen strut bars and engine parts, greddy exhaust, dc sports header, gc true coilovers, his car is soooooooooo clean, i love it. I am hopefully gonna take some pics and upload them soon. His car and my civic will be featured in the hot import nights in dallas

I bought one when it first came out. I have no regrets getting it. I love my rsx-s. I know that there are alot of cars that are faster than the rsx, but they usually are all turbo. The rsx is a n/a car that packs power. I enjoyed driving my car everyday. Also the value doesn't drop that fast as other cars. You can't go wrong with buying an rsx-s.
I have had mine for about 3 week and so far i love mine.. no flaming to anyone with the 2k series civic. i had one. but the RSX just Blows me away compared to that....
i havent had a chance to break her in fully yet but, i have pushed her alittle and she moves.. plus i every girl i see says they love the car they think its sexy looking. and so is the driver

I think the RSX is a great car. Has anyone heard that the RSX is to be discontinued and the integra to follow...it may just be a rumor. Hopefully someday I can get an RSX-S engine in my Civic....Drooooool!

also, RSX is still called "integra" everywhere but north america
i'd like to see a next-gen prelude, instead of that v6 accord coupe they're trying to pass off as the "prelude replacement"

I think the car is good. The new K engines are ****ing awesome. But the price of the car is price gouging at it's finest.... retail. Not even 1/2 of people who bought RSXs left the dealer with a great deal like that because not everyone knows how to shop for a car.
my dad's had his for almost 2 years now, we had the first black type-s in ohio. it has roughyl 55,000 miles on it since he drives to detroit and back everyday from toledo(a good hour one way minimum). the thing's run great, and the original tires have lasted this far, through several torture rounds, though they arent that grippy. it is kinda loud on long trips at freeway speeds and your *** goes numb after awhile from the seats. its a fun car to drive, and i steal it whenever possible. decently fast, and has a wicked sound with the injen SR that i installed about 2000 miles ago. its crazy once you hit i-vtec, the thing just screams, sometimes the revs climb so quickly that i hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. i've beaten many cars that i thought i couldnt beat, and they were suprised it could hang in there. and it IS faster than a stock GS-R(my accord v6 could beat some GS-R's and the RSX absolutely slaughter's my AV6) it gets around 40mpg on the freeway, but around town it likes to suck down the gas, maybe 20mpg at the most. the only problems we've that happened mechanically are a faulty EGR code(valve was fine, computer was flippin out), and the primary cat just went out at about 52,000 miles. a chunk of wood flew off a truck at about 25000 miles, damaging the front right fender, headlight and bumper, and all had to be replaced. at around 40,000 miles a piece of ice flew off a semi, hit the windshield and caused a hairline fracture across the entire windshield, causing it also to be replaced. the cargo area is decent, as i helped move my sister into her new apartment prior to having my truck(one of the reasons i go it, now i regret it
). the stereo sucks, outright; it has no bass and quality is crappier than my dodge's stock stereo. the dash layout is awsome and it makes it feel like a racecar everytime i climb in. the guages are easy to read and cool looking, adding to the race car feel. its very nimble and the steering has alot of feedback, making it a great road compliance tool. it is darty over bumps and likes to follow the ridges in the road, sometimes feeling nervous. to me, it feels like an integra GS-R with more power and refinement that has grown up and grown some *****. its an all around decent car and for a daily driven car for a short period of time, i reccomend it. over a long time, i;d say to get something different, which is what my father is planning, now that we've sold my accord V6 coupe, he plans to sell his RSX-S or trade it in and use the money from the accord to buy a new black liberty freedom v6 5-speed.

Well as you can see I made my decision about a month ago and I am very happy. My insurance was going to be way too much for an S2000 so I went with a Type S. the difference in power is like night and day from the Civic but I still liked the Civic, I just needed a change. The seats are nice too!
