2003 Accord LX

Hey, after buying my son a car. I think I would like to by my self a new car as well. Here's what I was quoted at for a 2003 Accord LX, Sedan, cloth interior: 18700 + Free state inspection for life + Free rental car while the car is being serviced

Is that a fair deal?

Find out the dealer invoice, then decide how much profit the dealer deserves from you and add that to the invoice. That is what you should pay. Oh, and get the V6

Go to CarsDirect.comand see what they want for the car. You'll get the invoice as well as the invoice price on any options.

Plus, add up the monetary value of the free inspections for the period of time you plan to keep the car. Figure that in and see what you come up with aganst the carsdirect price.

Also, a rental while the car is being serviced? I wouldn't put too much value on that perk. It's a honda accord for crying out loud! I'd only value that if you need to run around while your oil is getting changed.

First of all, that seems like a fair deal to me. However, I would suggest buying the EX (without that navigation nonsense) if you plan to keep the car long enough as to where the free inspections would really matter. My sister-in-law has a 2003 Accord EX with leather (non V6 model) and I like it pretty well. The brakes are very touchey, though that might just be her specific one. The fit and finish of everything looks nice, though the V6 power definately couldn't hurt on acceleration. If you don't care about performance though, I'd still get the EX w/ leather. Here are the prices for the new Accord Sedans (what you can expect to pay at the dealer.)

DX $15,800 2.4L I4 160 HP 26/34 mpg
LX $19,200 2.4L I4 160 HP 26/34 mpg
EX $21,600 2.4L I4 160 HP 26/34 mpg
EX with Leather $22,900 2.4L I4 160 HP 26/34 mpg
LX V6 $23,000 3.0L V6 240 HP 21/30 mpg
EX V6 $25,800 3.0L V6 240 HP 21/30 mpg

Thanks guys, after shopping around on the internet. My local Honda dealer promises to beat the lowest quote I received (18,446(Invoice)). So, I'm hoping they'll sell me the car below invoice plus their free state inspection and car rental deal...I'll let you guys know. If all goes well, I hope to drive it home before this saturday!

Good luck with the 03 Accord LX - that is what I want next as well! My 2k1 Civic LX now has 57,000 miles on it. It has held up pretty well so far but the Accord is just far more car! The 03 Accord has a lot of nice features compared to 02 and older LX's:

DOHC i-VTEC 160hp
5 speed automatic available
ABS standard
tilt/telescoping steering wheel
keyless entry
120 watt CD with 6 speakers
coil on plug ignition - no more of the outdated distributor cap found on previous Accords

Yeah my dealer hasn't got in any of the new accord ex v6's in the 6 speed yet? Are they out on the east coast yet? I would never buy the V6 auto I would be selling myself short. But yeah it will be awhile before I get the new accord, my civic only has 13K on it and I don't have a good job yet to afford the accord car payments and insurance

But yeah I like them a lot

Nick
