2004 SVT Lightning

Personally, I don't think it's that bad...stock 22's, 500hp, supercharged(duh), functional ram air, Brembo brakes...hell, I'd drive it!

I think most people have seen this before...

there are more hardcore sites, but these ones provide adequate coverage

The new lightning is totally awesome. It is good for 550 hp too with a new system developed by SVT.
"Ford's patented SuperCooler technology cleverly provides a special burst of power for the SVT Lightning concept. Traditional intercoolers dissipate heat from the supercharged air by circulating coolant through a front-mounted, air-cooled radiator. With the SuperCooler system, the vehicle's air conditioning system is used to chill a small storage tank of coolant to about 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
On demand, the SuperCooler system switches the intercooler flow from its normal circulation and dumps the chilled coolant into the engine's intercooler. In turn, the intercooler dissipates up to 20 percent more heat from the charge air - resulting in a denser air charge.
A green light on the instrument panel indicates the system's readiness. SuperCooler is activated automatically when the driver depresses the accelerator to a wide-open-throttle position.
"This technology plays directly into the hands of the enthusiast," Coletti says. "The SuperCooler provides the edge for the driver, and it is done simply by taking advantage of the hardware that already exists in the vehicle."
As a result of this cool technology, the SVT Lighting concept can give its driver as much as 50 transient horsepower for short bursts of 30-45 seconds and regenerate within 2 minutes under normal driving conditions. While its effect is similar to that of an aftermarket nitrous oxide system, the SuperCooler is completely self-contained, environmentally friendly and regenerative." from
Sorry that was so long, but I can't even describe this thing. Really, why would anyone buy that stupid Silverado SS for $10k more when it does 0-60 in 7 sec. THAT IS TERRIBLE The current Lightning does 0-60 over 1.5 seconds faster than that. This new one is going to be a BEAST. Also, ford has some reliability problems but so does everyone else. Most of the time, it is based on how well the car is cared for. My family has been driving almost exclusively fords for at least 3 generations now and have ZERO instances of a bad car. Maybe 'God smiled on us' but I think that Ford's unreliability is highly exaggerated. from svtperformance.com (scroll to the bottom)
ANYWAY, yeah, the new Lightning is Awesome

umm not true, granted, fords are ****, my tranny on my zx2(first car, bought for me by my rents, not my choice) went bad in a year, but thier trucks are not all that bad. case in point, i saw an original f150 svt in philly this weekend wreaking havock on z28's, new lightings, el camino ss, audi a6 (completely done over) during a couple of street races on holstein dr(sp?). every car has its problems, but some deserve respect i think.[hr]

460 HP w/ the stock Exahust and a boost controler? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Lemme guess, you kept the stock system from the turbo back and added a single T66?
Heh. If you wanna lie about that, Id be inclined to think its probably an NA SE Mk IV.
BTW, that civic is butt ****ing ugly. Whats a matter? That uber powerful 1.7L had too much backpressure for 1 exhaust? Have problems with birds perching on that book shelf you have on the trunk much?
