-->Question about transmissions<--
My mom has a 1998 Toyota Sienna. It has about 70,000 miles on it. She has has the transmission fluid drain and refilled with new fluid. Should she have the transmission fluid flushed now instead of just drained?? Is draining and flushing your transmission fluid that much different?? Thanks in advance

The difference is the good shop will connect the tranny to a flush machine and flush out all the fluid and contaminants while the tranny is running. They should also replace the filter. This can be okay if you kept proper maintenance up on your tranny, meaning you had it serviced at scheduled maintenance times. If you didnt, you could be making it worse by flushing out all of the dirt that acted like a seal on the tranny internals.
