can our car beat the older corollas?
can our car beat a corolla in a head to head match? say both stock and both are auto? in a dispute with an annoying bastard that thinks corollas are so fast.....
My friend had a mid 90's Corrola that was totalled last summer. It was an auto... I don't think it could keep up with my car... though mine isn't an auto. Oh, and both cars are actually oh - so - slow.
lol, it seems you're not very far off from that annoying person. Civics arent all that fast as well.
Corollas are probably heavier, because of their 4 doors and good amount of space. That might slowem down some.

Given the Corolla Produces more HP and more torque at a lower rpm range, both are autos, weight is similar the 1999+ corolla models should win over the dx/lx, but close on the ex model civics. You won't OWN the corolla, and if you win it won't be by much.

i dont know if this helps but i used to have a 97 corolla and it was slow as hell, and that car got totalled (not my fault) so i ended up with a new car thanks to insurance. that new car ended up being a 2001 civic. i personally think the civic is faster, and i have beaten some corollas because my friend has a new corolla. and i have beaten corollas i've seen on the road. i've also beat a 98 camry that my friend used to have.
YES, our car can beat EVERY car out there silly fool.
Why do people even bother asking if you can beat (insert car name here)... instead, why not just go out and try to race one. Real life experience is far better than a bunch of bored people on a forum, hashing out final judgement on race match-ups. you dig.

A civic 5spd CAN beat any corolla 5spd out there in a street race (no FI, nitrous, etc..you know what I am saying). I emphasized "Can" because it's really a driver's race with a hair advantage to the new 5spd "s" models.
Again, just like any other post about comparing which car is faster, it comes down to whose the better driver. But since most of the corollas are probably autos, if u have a manual, u can beat em. But i think corollas, even the older models have more hp than civics

okay the ex civics are not faster than lx/dx civics lol we have had countless threads on this ITS ALL IN THE DRIVER!!!. and in my opinion the dx civic might even be the fastest b/c it weighs the least.i have a lx and have beat 3 ex civics so ITS ALL IN THE DRIVER.
