edit: oh ya...why? i think nissan makes a very good vehicle and the Pathfinder's that i've been in have impressed me...as for the Fords and other domestics leave those for the rental companies...

i meant the nissan Murano not the gay Xterra

It depends... for a straight up show car, theres no choice but an Escalade. Even though I don't care for GM, I'd probably buy a GMC Envoy. I can't see myself in anything larger than a coupe for several years though.

I don't want anything to HUGE I just need something that I can take for trips to the mountains and stuff. 4 wheel drive is a must but stuff like the Escalade is just far to big, I mean c'mon I drive a Civic, I'm not into the big vehicle thing.

Should take a look at the new Porsche Cayenne. It looks pretty tight and it is a porsche. The S starts at about $55, so if you are looking at a luxury SUV, then that might be a pretty good choice. Good Luck on your decision.

Id go with the BMW X5 4.4i or 4.6is if you've got the money. Then again - you can always go for the Hummer H2

Get a Jeep Liberty or Grand Cherokee....unless your looking for something small...then get a wrangler. They suck up gas, but have the best 4WD systems, and are AWESOME off-road....the wrangler is the best vehicle to buy EVER if you want to go 4-wheeling....yes yes, I know the hummers are good, but jeeps are better....real 4WD instead of AWD in the H2, and the jeep has a much shorter wheelbase for wheeling around tight turns on the trail. Liberty uses a lot of wrangler components in the suspension and 4WD....definately a tight ride...and you can LIIIIIFT them....hehe...a liberty with 44x22.50 swampers....I wanna see that. P.S. PM me for more info on jeeps....I love them...and know quite a bit about them.

realistically speaking... i would most likely buy a Toyota Runner. their all new v8 model is like woah. very very nice. and the 4-runners are a few remaining new SUV's that can actual handle its own when taken off-road. not some "luxury suv" bullsh*t.

I have a Disco (Land Rover Discovery) and love it to death. It is a REAL SUV and can out do anything on the trails. These things can go into gorges, mud, scale sides of mountains (have to love hill decent control), and etc. I have done all these with it. You should go to your local Land Rover dealer and check them out. A lot of times the dealer has a off road test track to show how capable it is. How many dealers that sell SUVs have that?
