well as we all know fuel cell is coming along... 10-20 years? eh. duno. but its coming regardless.

here's the spec on the Honda FCX: currently Honda threw a few of them to the city of Los Angeles...

its slow, but thats cuz its heavy... and its not a sports car... but the amount of torque those engines produce was not expected... I mean, I didn't know they pump out that much. they'll need it to move such a heavy car.. but yeah....

Honda says it accelerates like a Civic... so that means... slow. heh.

Complete Car Maximum Speed 93 mph (150km/h)
Vehicle (curb) Weight 3,713lbs (1684kg)
Driving Range 220 miles (355km)
Seating Capacity 4 adults
Motor Maximum Power Output 80hp (60kW)
Maximum Drive Torque 201lb-ft (272Nm)
Motor Type AC synchronous
Fuel Cell Stack Stack Type PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel cell - Ballard)
Power Output 78kW
Power Storage Honda Ultra Capacitor
Fuel Fuel Type Compressed hydrogen gas
Storage Method High-pressure hydrogen storage tanks
Hydrogen capacity 3.75 kg @ 5000 psi *

Logan is an unknown quantity at this point
Electric engines have an amazing amount of torque, though lacking in horsepower. Have you ever driven a forklift or any other mobile machines in a warehouse before? Cherry-pickers, forklifts, and the like can get up and go pretty quickly despite their immense weight...which is like 2 or 3 full-size pickup trucks, hehe. I sure hope gasoline-powered vehicles are around a good bit longer...I have driven electric and electric hybrid vehicles and they are NO fun to drive...at all. A technology that appears promising is hywire (sp?), which has something to do with hydrogen-powered engines...right now, the future sure looks crappy for auto enthusiasts though.

Just think of them as golf carts. When u stomp the gas they get going quickly, but within 5 secs ur at topspeed. Would be fun in stop and go traffic

Yes, unlike internal combustion engines, electric motors make maximum torque @ 0 RPM, and lots of it.

The lack of Hp can be easily cured with a few type-r stickers I guess one would be cool. Instead of riding in a go-kart(civic) you can ride in a golf cart (electric car)
