Rep Power: 0 new car options help!!!
Hey guys, Im new to the site. Heres my problem I am looking to get a new (used) car in feb. Right now I have a 92 chevy swb truck. I am wanting a car but I can't decide between a 01 civic Ex coupe or a 00 celica gts. I like both cars but I have heard that hondas are really good cars. Please shed some light on the subject for me. Right now I am leaning toward the civic after looking at this site. I just worry about the hp difference. thanks.

Just keep in mind that the Civic is not a super fast car but I think that it does look better than the Celica. Just my opinion.[hr]

Rep Power: 341 If you're looking for a fast car, the Honda is not right for you. However, the Hondas do look better from the dealer than the Celicas do. The Celica can look very nice after its got a kit put on it, but that'll cost you a pretty penny. I think you need to decide how much money you are willing to put into the car first, and also whats more important: looks or power.

Rep Power: 299 if you plan to drive daily in traffic and actually want to seat 4 comfortably.(the celica is cramped on the inside IMO) then the civic wins hands down. ditto on the look thing also. i've drivin my buddies gts a few times and after sitting in traffic that 6 speed gets old fast. the clutch pedal is pretty stiff and so is the shifter. BUT!!!!! that car hauls *** and handles 3 times better than a civic out of the box.
It all depends on what you plan on using it for.
Test drive em both and then decide.

Rep Power: 0 I am personally happy with my civic. Not to fond of the celica.
Everyone poses a good question: Power or looks
GT-S Stats
civics stats
The sites may not be all that, but may assist in a decision

Rep Power: 0 GTS - faster, better handling, excellent toyota reliability, and it'll grow on you.
2001 Civics have a TON of recalls and a lot of problems...
If you're going to get a civic, get the 2002, or 03 models.. better refined.

Rep Power: 372 I agree with nOOdlboy, If your going to get a civic...get a 2k2 or 2k3. The first year is always a problem year...I should of realized that when I bought my 2k1....but I figured since its a honda, it would be different....boy was I wrong.
If I was to do it all again, I would of gotten a 2000 civic left over....

Rep Power: 310 the new celica with full TRD kit is hot (*now thats what an OEM kit should be like). and dont they have a super charger coming out for it?
celica - an ok amount of power and looks now
civic - good looks but power is a lil more down the road
