crack

Today I noticed a small crack in my windsheild comming from the bottom on the driver's side. It is about 5 - 6" long. The crack does not seem to have come from a pebble or rock because it is a "line" crack and not a "bullet hole" crack and the fracture starts at the bottom of the glass at the point it that it touches the plastic piece holding it (perhaps even before this point). Does anyone know if this would be covered under my warranty? Thanks.

Actually, you can get hairline cracks from stones. If it hits the edge of the glass (like you described), the glass doesn't flex, so it does not create the "bullet hole". Instead, it fractures the glass, and the crack spreads. I know this because it happened to my old car. Insurance does pick it up.
