Lancer Evolution VIII
Hey Guys,
A friend of mine sent me this link. They're pics of the EVO VIII. It's the one that's supposed to be released in the U.S. The one in the pic is RHD, so I'm sure they'll change that.

That car is bad ***. What's the power difference between the overseas version and the one that we're getting? I saw a video from somewhere over seas. It was a WRX vs. a Lancer Evo. The WRX got a 2 or 3 second head start, and the Evo caught up to him and passed him.

Too bad Mitsu isn't racing it in the WRC next year, or possibly ever again. It could do much better in the US if it was being raced when it goes on sale. I'm pretty sure that's what helped the WRX sell so well.

I agree...I'm sure it helped sell WRXs in the US. Any idea why they're not racing the EVO anymore?[hr]

Dang! That car looks nice. Dang!As for WRC, my guess is that their car wasn't as competitive as the WRX? I'm guessin this cus' Tommy Makinen moved from the Evo to the WRX. Or did he move cus' they aren't participating in the WRC? But that's my guess.
Did I mention that that car looks nice?

They're going to take a year off because they feel, rightly so, that they are not competitive. They may come back with the Mitsu Colt? - but I doubt they would come back in anything other than an EVO. Who knows, maybe they'll whoop @$$ when they come back. Mitsu just signed one of the main tech guys from Peugoet who helped develop the 206, which was un-stoppable this year.
