What is it like to work at the Dealership?
I'm thinking of applying for a position at the dealership for winter break.
Any experiences? Good or bad? Thanks!

I hated working for the dealers....I worked for ford as a manager in the Detailing department and I was also a detailer for a porsche dealer. The only good thing is driving the cars. The pay sucked, and you get treated like garbage.

AND THEY GET PAID MAD BREAD! (i dont know if they do...i assume?)

What type of work are you going to apply for? I was a mechanic at a Ford dealership for 3 years, it wasn't bad but I hated the hours I had to work.
I tried selling cars at another dealership after I stopped repairing cars and I hated it!

LoL... A few years back when I was 17, I applied at a nearby Toyota dealership. My sister bought the latest most expensive Rav4 at the time, and 2 days later I was hired!
Anyways, I got paid about $6.00 and all I did was make copies, enter somedata crap into the computers (as well as look some stuff up), file and transfer papers around, and occasionally answer the phone.
I was also the "get me" guy... They always told me "Get my a cup of coffee" or "Get me a pen". I got tired of that junk so I got my azz hired at my town's City Hall. Now I do all that stuff but at least I'm somewhat part of the "government"! I worked at a Ford dealership as a "lot attendant". I guess "lot attendant" meant janitor, building maintainance, abd biotch. My last day this past August, it occured to me that that job sucked when I was up on the roof during a downpour trying to patch a leak over the service department. I quit 5 minutes later.

I don't think it would be too bad as long as you aren't a salesman, a finance manager, sales manager, or any manager for that matter. Those are the bad jobs but they make the money at the dealers. However, those are very time intensive, highly stressful, and high burn-out type jobs. Sounds like you would be doing something other than one of those since it's a temporary job while off from school or whatever. You'll most likely get paid better somewhere else.
