Newbie with Quarter mile time!

I've come to the site alot, but never registered till today. I have a 2001 Civic EX 5-speed 4dr I just went to the track today with my new exhaust. I ran very good times. My previous best run was 16.89 @ 80.9mph. Today, I had a best of 16.52 @ 82mph. I have a cheapo Ebay wannabe Cold Air Intake and Custom 2.25' catback with a Flowtech Warlock Muffler. The exhaust sounds really good IMHO. It has a deep tone and doesn't get raspy as the RPMS go up.

So, does this ET sound good for my mods??? thanks.

Yea, you are alright with those. Especially for just starting out. With those mods and a quarter of a tank of gas(lighter than a full tank) you should be able to make a 16.3 or somewhere near that. Keep on working at it.

I think you're going overboard with the removing of the tire, etc...you're still running 16's you know? I have a 4 door that I'm sure will run only high 16's, but I use to do the "remove half the car" deal and it's just a lot of time to go from slow to slightly less slow. Save the seat. spare, floormat, etc... removal for when you are racing for pink slips

Every little bit counts. Also, go to the bathroom and don't eat before you race.

haha! every little bit does count. If i had a 100lb person driving, it probably would have been a 16.3. With out me in the car, it weighed in at 2595lbs. With me in the car it was 2880. I'm a big ol' boy. On one of my other runs I had a 2.4 60' time, so i might have been able to hit 16.4 if i drove a little better.
