gas milage with intake?
has anyone experienced any increases or decreases in gas milage with SRIs or CAIs? and by how much? i've had a generic SRI installed (which i removed recently because it was waaaay too loud, planning to put in an injen or aem) and i didn't notice any mpg change...
i guess we would be losing gas milage with an intake right? more air = more gas ...

if the intake makes more power through the powerband (or most of the powerband where u are usually at, ie: low end).. than you should be saving gas..
why? takes less power at xxxx rpm to achieve xx mph. more air does = more fuel though, but not necessary less mpg if there is power increase (note, just cuz you have more air in, doesn't mean u have more power)
but I lost mpg with my InJen SRI... even when I drive like a grandma.
I duno how the K&N drop in increases my mpg by 3-4, since I totally dont feel any gains what-so-ever.. but it does. and I tested it with two full tanks twice.

if you drive normally (without heavy acceleration and going over 3,000rpms) you'll end up with better gas mileage. I often floor it because i like the sound, so i'm averaging a little less than what i used to.

Same here... but it's fine with me
I wouldn't know for sure. All I have now is an intake and I seem to have lost gas mileage, but that's not due to the intake, it's due to me using 5w-30 instead of 5w-20 motor oil.
I can't seem to get out of the weeds on fuel consumption, I had an AEM intake on my car w/ roofrack & 17's and was getting 25/30. I took of the AEM and the rims and now im getting like 25 city / 25 highway (and i even reset the ecu)!!!

Well, after my first fill-up with a K&N FIPK, my mileage is still average, even though I did a whole lot more city driving. My current tank is alot of highway driving, and so far, it still looks about average.
