Has it been warmed up today???

How many people warm-up their cars (if live in a cold weather climate) before start driving?

this was posted yesterday. the owners manual says to leave your car running for about a min then drive.
reving your car up in high rpms will hurt your engine, so i advise not to do what kenshin does to his civic.

I like to wait till the needle gets past the 1st line above the bottom line. At least I know it's somewhat warmed up.
And it looks better too, because usually the smoke/steam (:confused from my exhaust stops coming out around then, a 2 minutes or so.

The interior of my car is NEVER warm after letting the car run for a min, it always takes me atleast 7-8 mins for the interior to start getting noticeably warm. I let mine warm up for the sole reason of having the interior warm when I get in.

Ok, he/she is not asking if its good or bad to let it warm up or not, they are asking how many people do it "if they live in a cold climate"?

Yes, in the winter time, I will let my cars warm up for 4-5 minutes.

I let my engine warm up until the needles moves between C and the normal temperature.

Or sometimes i leave it on for 5 minutes.

AR will become famous soon enough
i wait till its at c or above c then i drive off. but rarely, like today, do i have the car out in the street (today is like the first time in 2 months cause i am my great granmas for the holiday). i keep my baby in a heated garage in my apartment building or when i go to school, i keep it in a parking structure building (not heated, very cold in winter but at least shes not covered in snow). i make of point of not parking on the street for two reasons: 1. chicago weather sucks. 2. chicago people cant park and nor than can they respect anything thats not theirs.. i keep her in a lot or garage at all times, if i EVER park on the street (city stree), i park in those loner spots, where only one car can fit in the spot. otherwise yeah i warm my car up for like 8 minutes on average during the winter.

other than that, I keep it on low rev while I drive to warm it up...

When you guys let your car warm up, don't turn on the heater. Leave the A/C dial to the coldest setting. The engine will reach operating temperature a lot faster without the heater running.

Usually, I am running late and there is no time to wait on the engine to warm up. I just drive super-duper slow for about a mile and then I sit in bumper to bumper traffic for the next 30mins or so.
