I am currently wiring a headunit intoa car. here is aproblem im hoping someone can help me torubleshoot:

Everything is wired together except for the power wires

when u hook the power wire from the harness to the HU nothing happens
when u hook the power wire from the harness into a speaker wire from the HU there is power to accesorries but no power to the HU
when u hook the power wire from the HU into the abovementioned setup the HU now also has power, but the speakers do not function.
Speaker wires are all wire correctly.
The ground seems to be wired correctly.

ANy input on why this is not working,

i've read on the forums that you need to have the yellow memory wire hooked up so it has power going to it, if this isnt hooked up then the head unit wont work, try that, but thats all i know. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/IMG]

yeah, there should be a red and a yellow that need to be twisted together then bonded with the power wire, its like the remote wire for amps, the amps wont work without that wire, it acts as a relay to tell the head unit when the vehicle is on and when it is off, so it knows to turn off.
