What?.....custom paint question
I am going to get a custom paint job, the body shop I use owes me a favor so I am getting it done for cheap but they told me they could paint everything but the engine bay my question is why not? Does this sound right, if not what should I do? Remember there painting everything else cheap.

thats one of the differences between a good/cheap paint job.. some dont even paint the door jams and such.. others paint everything including the engine bay...

So the obvious solution to this problem is of two things:
A) Live with it..
B) Get someone to strip out everything in the engine bay....and I mean pretty much everything......

It is a complete and utter pain in the butt to pain the engine bay. It requires the removal of the engine, or you could cover it up like NumberOneHonda said, but you might run into risk of overspray. What colour is your car now and what colour you're painting? I don't think its that big a deal, but yea for a "decent" paint job, they probably won't do the engine bay because it takes too much time.

thats why i appreciate show cars that have the engine bay painted powder blue like the rest of the car... there are so many show cars that do things cheaply... it shows... i even seen some show cars with a mural painted INSIDE the fender well...
