octane ratings
So I went to the gas station yesterday and I swear to God there were 5 grades of gas.
regular-87,special-88,mid-grade-89,premium-91,and superpremium-93
I was wondering has anybody else seen this many grades of gas or do you think it was just this station?
By the way it was at a citgo in Irving, Tx

I've only seen 3 before, but i put in the cheap stuff.. even though it keeps gettin' more expensive, avg price is like $1.50 a gallon for 87. I'm damn glad i don't drive an suv
I was really surprised to see that gas was only 1.12 next door to my apartment building this week!
It went up today to 1.23, but thats still cheap as hell compared to 1.50 like it usually is.

I was out in southeast Ohio at Miami of Ohio and at one station they had 85 Octane, I almost accidently filled up with it, lol. It was on old station, but I guess alot of older cars (i.e. pickup trucks out there) use it... I about had died laughing when I seen it....

I get 93 from Esso (or Exxon in USA).. just because I get triple Esso points. I redeem it for car washes.. and it pretty much pays for the higher grade fuel itself. It works out to a free car wash every 2 fill ups..
