Anybody here ever race with one from a dead stop?

I got one for a rental car and I can tell its faster then my LX auto( The corolla is also auto)
the rental I got was a 02 toyota corolla not S version

Anyways

Anyone race one?
or try and lost?

The corolla is not my car though
the seats and head rest are very uncomfortable IMHO
and the car feels rather heavy also
and the steering wheel is just too big well for me anyways.
and some stuff in the interior are falling apart i'll take pics if people want
the center has this cover this for your cd's and one hindge broke off

but the guages in the car are awesome they glow this whiteish color with a very little blue tint
the interior instruments are huge though (climate control etc) the car also sits very high which I don't like at all it's hard to see the road because they have no seat adjusters(lowest model)

ive raced a 2000 corolla off the line and i won.it was a little more than 1/4 mile. i think they have the same hp.

the corolla-s' are POS's. My friend has an auto S and its a joke.

They all have the same engine I think. The "S" gives it some ground effects, which only adds weight. Its heavier and thus slower than the other models!!![IMG]i/expressions/moon.gif[/IMG]

You guys are f**king lame.

I've owned one before, and it's DEFINITELY quicker than my Civic. If you don't believe me, go get yourself some test results. Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Road & Track, Automobile, Evo, & Car magazines ALL say it's quicker than the Civic. By as much as 1 second quicker to 0-60mph (C&D, last month's issue).

But like I said, I've owned both... and my friend currently has a 99 Corolla that he rapes me with. And my friend's stick EX (Si Canadian). Rapes, as in by multiple car lengths.

My buddy with stock Corolla will take on any SOHC Civics for pink slips, no questions asked.

But I guess you guys are all blessed with miracle fast Civics.... I know one thing for sure. All of you who say you "smoked" Corollas and call them lame, and slow, have NEVER DRIVEN ONE. You just assume, and you think cause you drive a Civic, it's the quickest car in the sub-compact class. When in reality, it is one of the SLOWEST. It is a proven fact that a Neon, Sentra, Elentra, Aerio and Corolla are all quicker than our Civics. I don't know why you guys keep dreaming that our Civics are quick.

Civic vs Corolla, it's a drivers race if both are stick. If both autos then the car with better specs wins.

Yes, the best test is auto vs auto.. since there is no driver skill invovled, and the Corolla is clearly quicker than the Civic.

It's a faster car, period.

Anyway, I believe this topic has been discussed and been proven already.... somebody oughta lock this thread. Do a search before you post something like this...
