NSX time...
NSX time...
Kind of played around with an NSX the other night. I was coming from Houston to Austin on Texas 71. This road is straight for the most part and fun to drive at tripple digits. The NSX was red and going around 80. I was going around 105 and I saw this NSX and slowed down to check it out. I gave him a thumbs up for his ride and he took off. He slowed down back to 80 and I blinked my emergencies to show him props. I slowed down till he was up ahead of me then I put it to the floor. I passed him up going 120 and as I passed him he begins to accelerate. Let me tell you something, he passed me right up and pulled away like I was nothing. That car is badass. We both slowed down and he let me lead the speeding pack going around 100. When we came into Austin and had to part, he blinked his emergencies. Cool guy driving the NSX. Didnt try to show off or act like he was god on the road. Much props to his NSX that pulled away from me after I passed him up going 120. Just had to get that story off my chest.

funny thing, last friday night on interstate 75 me in my car (with spare on
) and my friend in his itr were going down south slow as **** because of me and i could see an nsx speeding on the onramp and joining I75. immediately i see and hear my friend coming from behind me to have some beef with the nsx. obviously, the nsx would have pimpslapped my friend in his itr, but he just wanted the race to see how the car faired against the nsx (my friend does 14.2 all day long while i think nsx does high 13's stock). that motherfu cker did all that speeding and then when my friend went beside him, revved up to his 8700 redline, and that nsx did absolutely nothing. at least have the decency to smoke my friend; all he wanted to do was show the nsx he wasn't that slow

Here's an interesting fact...
Though the ITR can go 8,600 RPMs stock before hitting the rev limiter, so can the NSX. The NSX redlines at 8,000 RPMs... that's what it looks like on the tachometer... however, it can go 600 RPMs more without doing any damage to the engine.

your talking about the jdm itr, my friend's usdm itr could go 8400rpm (redline) before hitting the rev limiter (8500prm)
(tweaked it with the aem ems)
when my friend hooked up the aem ems to his laptop and went to change the redline and rev limiter, the stock rev limiter was at 8500rpm.
i dunno where you got that info., but i'm pretty sure it's about the jdm itr.

From an ITR owner of an ITR site. He was quite shocked that he went 200 RPMs passed the redline. Oh. And he owns the Acura one. I forgot the website. It's pretty popular.
the tachometer in the itr is not accurate, it's about 100 rpm off. as we were cruising on interstate 275 on the way to the dyno shop, we had the laptop hooked up to the aem ems and had it on the screen that showed engine load, % throttle being open, engine rpm, knock, temperature, air fuel ratio, and a whole bunch of other **** that i can't remember. when he dropped it in 3rd a few times, matching the exact rpm to what the tachometer had showed the tach was always ~100 off.
the itr tach is an electrical tach and the tach can get inaccurate due to electrical interferences.
probably from itrca.com, it's a good site from what i've seen

Yeah, it was ITRCA.com.
8700 rev limiter on jdm is by word of magazine, a guy who has b18cr in his hatch (through a guy we know at racingzone in tampa fla), and if i remember correctly somebody also said that shizzit a while back on hondatech. my friend just signed off from msn but me pm u tomorrow about the article. i'll make him root it up
edit: to what you said, ditto. then again, jdm does have 11.0:1 cr and now i'm not sure but i dun think it has ac?.....
