CRX Question

I hope someone can help me with this. I am looking for the dementions of the fuel tank on a 86 CRX. The tank is the same on the 86 civics. I have been looking on the internet for specifications and I havn't found anything yet. I need to order a new gas tank for my CRX and the guy won't let me order one until he know the dementions and everyhting about it.

PLEASE HELP

We tried to get a tank for the CRX, and I called and the guy said he needs to know the dementions, I was like WTF????, so he said I had to crawl under the car and measure it. We even went into the Honda dealer and they couldnt find a listing in their books for the tank. We were wondering if any of you guys knew or know anyone that would know. I cant get under the car, where its parked right now.

Thanks In Advance Guys.

Try looking at Majestic Hondas site. They are one of the best places to get honda parts from.

Tried there too, no luck. With the exchange rate we would get hosed if we orderd a tank from there.

Thanks Guys.

No luck? Well, they do have the fuel tank listed but I don't know which model you have... Get a part number at least.

Actually, why not find an owner in your area and ask if you can approcximate the dimensions on that person's car? Or look at your existing one and see if you can figure it out from there...

But from the sound of it, this guy that wants the dimensions is not informed of what he's doing. I mean, why would you want the dimensions if it's going to be a straight replacement? It's like saying I need to replace my 12 inch ruler with a new 12 inch ruler, but I have to make sure it can measure up to 12"

Maybe they're trying to go for a generic brand but not a true honda fuel tank?

Actually, we thought of that, we are trying to track someone down that might be able to tell us, but there arent many of them around here. The tanks we are looking at getting are susposed to be used tanks straight from Texas, so there will be no rust on them, but like the rest of you guys I am not sure why I cant just tell him what I need and him get it for me, its strange, but he said they may be marked wrong or something like that, its crazy.

BTW, that reminds me I think I need a new ruler too ...............
