broken motor mount
do motor mounts just break for no good reason, i had the dealer rebuild the transmission last week and i was going through their paperwork that they gave me and it had replaced motor mount. i got to see it it looks like it just snapped, anybody else had this prob

Rep Power: 811 How do you know if a motor mount is broken? My engine is making growling sounds in the higher rpms above 2500 when I accelerate. Is that a sign?

Rep Power: 0 motor mount broken already on a 7thgen??? where have you been driving your car??? off road rally or somthing? I dont know why would you replace your motor mount if your tranny was getting rebuilt. Did you get into an accident?

Yes, you sound like you drive hard like me. about two months after the dealership replaced my transmition under warranty since I burned up the synchro's between second/third and 4th/5th, my front motor mount broke as well. No problem though since it was replaced by the dealer.

my mother had a broken motor mount on her 2000 Acura 3.2TL. Two years of heavy abuse, speed bumps at 20mph, and taking the driveway hump waay too fast finally caught up to it. I think she finally learned....
